Top Five Destinations for the Die-Hard Party Animal

When we talk about party destinations there is a tendency not to think beyond Las Vegas, Ibiza, or Rio de Janeiro as these cities have long been acknowledged as the world’s party capitals along with a couple more, perhaps. However, while they remain to be great spots on the world’s party map, they have their work cut out as some new players have joined the game and are giving them some hard competition.

With new challengers to the established party-hubs emerging across the globe, party animals are now spoilt for choice – they are no more restricted to just a few destinations where they can party the night away after a hard day of sightseeing or shopping, or whatever else tourists do. Some of the newest and hottest such locations are in countries that were not even given a second thought by travelers a decade or so ago.

There are people who just love to party whether home or away – the die-hard party animals always on the lookout for spots where they can let loose and go wild. Also, people were beginning to get tired of the same bossy bouncers, dress codes and the insanely overpriced drinks.

Keeping all of this in mind we have identified five locations that are not only great tourist destinations but promise to be all that a party animal would expect – friendly faces, great music with a difference, exotic food, ambiance, zany themes – and more.

Pag – Croatia

Dubbed the “Croatian Ibiza,” Pag is an island of Northern Dalmatia undeniably the summer party capital of the nation – and what’s more – it’s a pocket-friendly destination where you can go crazy at the numerous swinging hotspots without the guilt of overspending eating away at your subconscious.

Here are some of the best places in Pag for the incorrigible party beast:

Zrce Beach – One of the most happening party beaches in Croatia, and indeed the whole of Europe, Zrce Beach boasts five excellent clubs – Aquarius, Papaya, Noa, Kalypso, and Euphoria, open only during the summer season. Day or night, these clubs are real fun places with great music and parties that stretch till the wee hours of the morning.

Famous European DJs like David Morales, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, and Chemical Brothers alternate performances at these clubs, and the best part is – entry is free to all the clubs with the exception of special events when it can cost anywhere between €8 and €30.

Zrce beach is also known for its music festivals like the “Hideout Festival,” “Fresh Island Festival,” “Sonus Festival,” “Barrakud Croatia,” and a new festival going by the name “Croatia Rocks.”

Complete your Zrce sojourn with some real fun time on a party boat with cocktails, music, and swimming PLUS stops on the numerous sandy as well as pebbly beaches.

Club Vanga – While in Pag, be sure to enjoy an evening or two at the only disco in town, the Club Vanga, with rotating musical genres such as rhythm and blues, soul, funk, pop, hip-hop and dance, house music, and music years 70 ’, ’80 And ’90.

Reykjavik’s vibrant nightlife is concentrated around the main shopping street Laugavegur and the neighboring streets such as Hverfisgata, Bankastræti, Austurstræti, Hafnarstræti and to some extent Naustin. The music ranges from goth and punk tunes to the ‘80s and trance.

As none of the bars charge entry fees, bar hopping all through the night is a tradition in Reykjavik known as “runtur” by the locals. The city is also renowned for hosting the “Secret Solstice Festival” where you can party to top musicians enjoying three days of continuous sunshine.

Please note that entry fees may be charged if there is a live band playing or something special going on.

There are several cafés that turn into bars and dance venues as the night goes on and alcoholic beverages flow.

Most people in Reykjavik are harmless and friendly and the streets are perfectly safe late at night, even when you are alone.
