Starz’ British-American television hit show “Outlander” will be making a desperately awaited comeback for its third season on September 10, this year. The recently released trailer gives a sneak peek into what can be expected – if ever trailers could be trusted to do that. However, the long-due preview has sent thrilled fans into a Twitter frenzy.

The “Back to the Future” kind of drama appears to pick up from where it left off in the finale of the last season, with Claire (Caitriona Balfe) still in the 20th century with Frank, raising Jamie’s daughter while Jamie (Sam Heughan), himself, is centuries away, literally.
Will Claire be able to make it back to the 18th century and into Jamie’s arms again? The answer to that is a huge YES on everyone’s minds; it’s the “when” bit which is generating all the suspense. When, during this season, will we get to see the tear-jerking reunion? That’s the question that’s tormenting fans the most.
Those of you who have read “Voyager” – the third novel in Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” series on which the show is based – may think you know what’s in store, but beware the curve ball the new season can throw at us. However, the trailer does provide several glimpses of scenes that seem to be based on the novel.
The premise of the drama this season will probably be the post- separation travails of Claire and Jamie and how drastically their lives change as a result – an indication, perhaps, that this time around there will be a lot of Frank, in his different moods as we see in the footage.
Meanwhile, back in the 18th century, Jamie gets arrested on his return to Lallbroch and the trailer also shows the ensuing adventures with Lord John Grey (David Berry).
