Popular Vote Illegal Claims Trump – Clinton Team Fires Back

Donald Trump singing his own praise claiming that he “won the popular votes if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally,” was vehemently countered by Mark Elias, Hillary Clinton’s campaign lawyer , “we are getting attacked for participating in a recount that we didn’t ask for by the man who won [the] election but thinks there was massive fraud.”

Trump has been relentless in ridiculing Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign ever since their call to join the recount effort in Wisconsin initiated by Green Party’s Jill Stein.

“Winning the electoral college won him the presidency, so Trump’s excuses on why he lost the popular vote by millions are just small and sad,” was the tweeted response to Trump’s boast by Christina Reynolds, who was the Clinton campaign’s deputy communications director.

President-elect Donald Trump appears to be highly perturbed as a movement to recount votes in four key states is gaining momentum. Green Party nominee Jill Stein has initiated the effort and has been instrumental in raising more than $6 million to cover the filing fees and lawyer expenses to oversee and monitor the recount process.

Although the Hillary Clinton camp, had initially abstained from joining Stein’s initiative, they later agreed to participate because of Hillary’s voters’ pressure to be part of the recount campaign.

As Stein’s fundraising for the recount picked up momentum, Trump resorted to Twitter, belittling Stein and her endeavor for the recount. Not only that, he went on a tweeting spree all through Sunday hinting at conspiracy theories. One of almost a dozen tweets on the subject read, “In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”

According to Politico, “The remnants of Hillary Clinton’s campaign roared to life on Sunday, their Twitter feeds boiling over in frustration as President-elect Donald Trump falsely claimed that ‘millions’ of illegal immigrants had tipped the popular vote in her favor.”

“Former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said Sunday it is time to re-examine the Electoral College after Democrat Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but lost the electoral vote to President-elect Donald Trump.”
