American singer, songwriter, dancer and actor, Alecia Beth Moore, popularly and professionally known as Pink, announced her second pregnancy last Saturday on Instagram.
The news was confirmed by publicist Meghan Kehoe soon after the Instagram announcement. The 37-year-old Pink, already a mother to five-year-old Willow Sage Hart, simply wrote “Surprise”.

Truth be told, it wasn’t really a surprise as the three-time Grammy winner has shown her fondness for children on many an occasion. In an interview in May, with Good Morning America, she sounded ecstatic about motherhood and how much she loved it.
“I made the choice a long time ago that I was going to have a successful family and that is my absolute number one goal in life,” she had said in the interview.
“I feel like I have two kids right now. I would like a third. … Carey’s an awesome husband and a really good dad, but he’s also like a second child,” she said in the GMA interview.
Another reason why it is not so much of a surprise is because Pink is an enthusiastic children’s advocate, raising funds through UNICEF for malnourished children all over the world. The intention is to provide nutritional, vitamin-rich peanut paste to these children the world over.
Last year, she was declared UNICEF ambassador to help promote and encourage physical activity among young children in the United States. In fact, she’s also the national spokeswoman for the UNICEF Kid Power fitness band.

“I’ve always wanted to work with UNICEF,” Pink said on “GMA.” “It’s the one organization over the last 15 years just consistently been in mind for all the amazing things that they do and timing is everything and it worked out.”
She went on to give a demo of some physical moves, along with her trainer Jeannette Jenkins, including some children from Public School 41, Greenwich Village School in New York.
As a professional songstress, she has given a number of hits. “Just Like Fire”, “Just Give Me a Reason”, “So What”, “Try”, “Funhouse” “Please Don’t Leave Me” are some of her hit songs among many more.
In fact, she topped the charts with “Setting On Fire”, a duet with country star Kenny Chesney. Pink has known Carey Hart since 2001. It has been an on-and-off relationship. They broke-up in 2003, reconciled again and got married in January 2006. In 2008, after 2 years of marriage, the couple separated to be reunited again in 2010.
Having celebrated their 10th anniversary in January 2016, they have been together ever since. Pink, however, is reported to have jokingly said that they are long “due” for another split. Let’s hope not!
