Eight years of marriage has culminated in separation for actors Chris Pratt, 38, and Anna Faris, 40, who made the news public through separate posts on social media pages.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star who has a four-year-old son, Jack Pratt, with Faris, took to Facebook to announce the sad breakup on Sunday night.
Soon after the Facebook post, there was another statement on Faris’ Twitter account confirming the split.

The couple first met in 2007 on the sets of “Take Me Home Tonight,” got engaged in 2008 and made the relationship official on July 9, 2009, when they tied the knot in Bali, Indonesia.
“Anna and I are meant to be together,” Pratt had said in an interview with AMA on Reddit in 2015. “Our relationship has made me believe in divine intervention and destiny, just as much as my crazy career and the way I fell into this life. She and I grew up 20 minutes away from each other but never met until we met in LA.”
Speaking about her relationship with PEOPLE in May this year Faris said: “I don’t think that’s something when you’re an actor, that you’re prepared for. There are two different roles that you play — the one on-camera and the one in public. That’s the tricky part.”
She went on to add: “I think it was a combination of things. I take pride in how great my relationship is with Chris, but having said that, of course, in this crazy world where he’s off doing movies and I’m in L.A. raising our child, of course, I’m going to feel vulnerable, like any normal human would.”
Earlier this year, in an interview with “The Associated Press,” Pratt said that “for the first part of our relationship, we put our careers at the top. We were like, ‘Honey, if you get a job and you have to go to Istanbul for six months, you’re going. I’ll help you pack. I’ll Skype with you every day. You’re living your dream, I’m living my dream. That’s what we do.'”
The sudden announcement from the seemingly happy couple – until the announcement, at least – has come as a shock to fans.
