First Trailer for Final Season of ‘Game of Thrones’ Released: Premiering April 14, 2019

HBO has released the first teaser trailer of the final season of Game of Thrones, premiering April 14, 2019.

While the first six seasons had ten episodes each and the seventh had seven, the eighth and final season is going to have only six episodes.

However, rumor has it that each new episode will be ninety minutes long – about feature film-length.

At the post-Golden Globes bash on Sunday, HBO chief Richard Plepler claimed that he had seen parts of all six episodes of the upcoming season of GOT, according to ‘Variety.’

“It’s a spectacle. The guys have done six movies. The reaction I had while watching them was, ‘I’m watching a movie’,” Plepler was quoted by the magazine as saying.

Speaking highly of showrunners Benioff and Weiss, Plepler told ‘Variety.’

“They knew the bar was high. They’ve exceeded the bar. I’ve watched them twice without any CGI and I’m in awe. Everybody’s in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production.”

The one-and-a-half-minute trailer of the fantasy drama television series is entirely focussed on the Stark children – Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Sansa (Sophie Turner), and Arya (Maisie Williams) – who are apparently reuniting at the family crypt at Winterfell.

Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) is, however, missing from the teaser, which is not really surprising given there’s no love lost between him and his siblings, especially in his new avatar as the Three-Eyed Raven.

As Jon Snow walks past the statue of his mother, Lyanna Stark, a feather falls to the ground and Jon turns around to look, as if he heard the feather fall behind him.

The brief trailer shows the three siblings walk past the statues of their fallen family members, hearing voices from the past – voices of Lyanna, Ned, and Catelyn whispering bygone events – as they go through the foreboding Winterfell crypt.

They finally come to the end of the hallway and guess what, they are standing face to face with their own statues even as an eerie winter chill creeps up towards them, blowing out their torch and forcing them to draw their swords.

There’s hardly anything that the teaser gives away and, for all we know, the entire footage could have been shot purely for marketing purposes and, probably, doesn’t even include actual scenes from the season – but that’s just a thought.

That said, whatever little the teaser has revealed has been enough to send GOT fans in a tizzy, with many a speculation flying around.

Here are some reactions on Twitter.

Marvel Finally Releases the Trailer for Avenger: Endgame – Here’s a Breakdown

Marvel Studio has finally dropped the long-awaited trailer for Avengers 4 and we now know that the official title is going to be AVENGERS:

ENDGAME; also, the release date announced is much earlier than expected – so, all good, thus far.

Now, before we jump right into breaking it down for you, we must warn you for spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War because Endgame is after all a sequel to it.

After witnessing the annihilation of half the population of the universe at the hands of Thanos in Infinity War, the trailer shows Tony Stark drifting in space inside the gloomy confines of a spacecraft, with no food or water for four days running and a fast-depleting air supply, barely enough to see him through to the next morning.

You see a debilitated Stark recording a message into his partially damaged Iron Man helmet, meant for the CEO of Stark Industries – Virginia “Pepper” Potts, a.k.a Rescue – who, as you know, also happens to be his fiancée.

“If you find this recording, don’t’ feel bad about this. Part of the journey is the end. Just for the record, being adrift in space with zero promise of rescue is more fun than it sounds,” says Stark, who is. quite visibly, at the end of his tether.

There are speculations that Nebula is with Stark, out of sight somewhere on the seemingly doomed spaceship.

After decimating half of the universe’s inhabitants, Thanos seems to have retired into a rural setting, which we saw a glimpse of in the final scenes of the prequel.

His body armor stands tall in the fields, apparently serving as a scarecrow, as he walks through the space-thistles, his Infinity Glove caressing the flora.

Gone is Steve Roger’s (Captain America) relatively new bearded look in this Avenger installment; he looks as clean-shaven as it gets – probably his way of looking sad at the loss of his best buddy Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier.

After being missed in the previous Avenger installment, master archer and S.H.I.E.L.D agent Clint Barton from Avengers: Age of Ultron is back, with not only a new haircut and outfit but also a new-look weapon.

Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang – also known as Ant-Man – who, like Barton, was not part of Infinity War, is also back in Endgame, at least in the trailer.

Land probably has a key role to play in restoring the natural order, especially with his ability to shrink and grow and become stronger at will – thanks to his suit.

We could likely see him reversing the vaporization sequence and bringing all the lost heroes back – but don’t swear by it.

While the trailer has been masterfully edited to captivate and impress with some really interesting teases, it hardly reveals anything about the plot, leaving a lot to speculation.

But, isn’t that the hallmark of a good trailer? To build up the suspense? Deliberately keep the audience on tenterhooks? Provide them the thrill of not knowing?

The Lion King (2019) Trailer Review

Releasing July 19, 2019.

Disney has dropped the first official teaser trailer for the 2019 CGI-epic, The Lion King – a much-talked-about remake of the original film from 1994 – and, guess what, Scar (Mufasa’s younger brother and Simba’s uncle) is missing from it.

Of course, Scar’s voice Chiwetel Ejior does feature in the credits, but you don’t get to hear him in the trailer.

There’s a ton of speculations flying around, though, and they are not just restricted to Scar, but more on that in a bit.

The trailer begins with the dawn of a new day – a new sun rising above the African horizon – which, as you come to know in a few seconds into the teaser, is symbolic of the initiation of Simba – son of Mufasa the original Lion King of the Pride Lands – the heir apparent.

After a couple of glimpses of a pretty realistic-looking CGI re-creation of the African landscape, you get to hear the unmistakable voice of James Earl Jones’ telling his son he would one day have to carry his legacy forward.

“Everything the light touches is our kingdom, but a king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king.”

The stampede follows and the next shot is of Rafiki holding Baby Simba aloft from the familiar Pride Rock as the subjects bow in obeisance to their new king.

Then, the trailer ends – just like that – giving nothing away about the film.
So, speculations are what we have for now until Disney releases another trailer or there’s some kind of a leak.

There are talks about Scar and the hyenas – characters that, to this day, are among the most popular group of villains in the world – going through a complete overhaul to represent completely different characters.

One rumor suggests that hyenas Ed and Banzai have not found a place in the remake and are being replaced with other characters.

If rumors are to be believed, Azizi (voiced by Eric Andre) should be replacing the dim-witted Ed who may not even be dumb, this time around, considering how easily offended people get these days even if mental disability is portrayed in an animated character.

Then, there is a lot of talk about Kamari replacing Bonzai who is going to behave the same as Bonzai without actually being Bonzai – confusing, isn’t it?

Going along with the rumors, Scar may not actually be Scar in the new Lion king version, somewhat like the hyenas.

One insider close to the project is believed to have revealed that the film’s villain Scar is expected to get a complete makeover and is, likely, getting the appearance of a frail-looking white lion – an albino, perhaps.

The trailer has elicited all sorts of reaction on social media, some of which are downright funny, while some border on the absurd but, then, everybody is entitled to an opinion or two, or more, if you like.

Captain Marvel Trailer Review

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has finally dropped its first trailer for its highly anticipated film Captain Marvel, with Oscar-winner Brie Larson playing the lead role of Captain Marvel, the superhero alter ego of Carol Danvers – a U.S. Air Force pilot.

The trailer opens with a blast in space, followed by Carol Danvers hurtling towards Earth, as her escape pod is blown to smithereens on entry.

The next thing you see is Danvers crashing through the roof of a building, with the camera panning down to show a Blockbuster storefront, which, one has to say, is a brilliant way of evoking the 1990s feel – the decade the story is supposed to be set in.

While we’re on the topic of throwbacks, you get to see a digitally de-aged Nick Fury with two eyes, believe it or not.

The work gone into making a 69-year-old Samuel Jackson, who is playing Nick Fury, look like he’s genuinely 35 is really commendable and deserves the highest award in this category.

On the other hand, despite a full head of hair and all the digital manipulation, Phil Coulson’s de-aging looks a bit shoddy, but, then, some people can never be made to look younger than their age, do what you may.

Watch the trailer here.

There’s a scene in the trailer where you see Captain Marvel punching the dentures off an old lady; however, there’s probably a reasonable explanation for something as un-cool as that, which Marvel does not want us to know at this point in time, perhaps.

As always, MCU hasn’t cut corners as far as special effects are concerned, which is glaringly evident in the trailer and, you have to admit, whatever action scenes could be squeezed into a two-minute teaser, are out of this world – some of them literally.

Here’s the official synopsis of Captain Marvel, hitting theatres in March, next year.

“The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

After crash-landing into the Blockbuster, Captain Marvel is trying to come to terms with the visions and flashbacks of her time spent on Earth as Carol Danvers.

“I keep having these memories; I see flashes; I think I have a life here, but I can’t tell if it’s real”

Below is the first official poster featuring Captain Marvel, as well as an alien cat called Chewie – the feline barely visible in the shadows on the lower left corner of the poster.

Emmy Awards 2018: A Quick Recap

It was SNL’s Kate McKinnon and Kenan Thompson, instead of hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che, who kicked off the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards, Monday night, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, to honor the best in U.S. prime time television between June 2017 and May 2018.

“Tonight is a celebration of the hard work and the talent of everyone in this room,” McKinnon opened, which was all good, but in the next few lines spoken by the duo came the word “diversity” that would be repeated ad nauseam over the course of the entire show.

“We’re also celebrating the fact that this year’s Emmy Awards has the most diverse group of nominees in Emmy history,” said the tuxedoed Thomson.

I’m going to go ahead and say it. We solved it,” he said – the “it” obviously referring to “diversity.”

Not to be outdone in the use of the word, McKinnon asked, “Seriously? So, diversity is not a problem in Hollywood anymore?”

With that, the pair got into a “We solved it” song and dance act and were soon joined onstage by a procession of performers, including Kristen Bell, Tituss Burgess, Ricky Martin, John Legend, RuPaul, and Sterling K. Brown.

Oh yes, there was a straight white man representation, too, in the form of Andy Samberg, albeit for a brief moment, as he had to make way for a troop of dancers.

Hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che’s opening monologue was, well, as flat and boring as a monologue can be, although they did elicit a few laughs, here and there, with some well-directed barbs at NBC, which ran the show Monday night, and also at Emmy’s depleting viewership.

“We just want to say a quick hello to the thousands of you here in the audience tonight, and to the hundreds watching at home,” Jost jested.

“Our network NBC has the most nominations of any broadcast network, which is kind of being like the sexiest person on life support, it’s not great,” said Che.

The Emmys have historically rated low in the popularity graph as compared to some of the other awards we know of.

Esquire’s Tyler Coates hits the nail on the head when he says that “the Emmys make for a strange award show,” lacking the allure of the Oscars, the performances variety of the Grammys, the headiness of the Golden Globes, and so on.

Here’s what he wrote in his piece entitled, “The Emmys Quickly Became the Butt of Its Own Joke.”

“The Emmys make for a strange award show. They lack the glamour of the Oscars, even if more and more A-list actors are flocking to the small screen. There’s also fewer opportunities for celebratory performances, as with the Grammys; other than the silly opening number, there were no musical sequences. It lacks the drunken perkiness of the Golden Globes or the wacky camp of the Tonys. The Emmys, devoted solely to the production of television, is fairly stoic. You have to rely on the show’s emcee to lighten the mood.”

Ed Sheeran Has All But Confirmed He Married Fiancée Cherry Seaborn in a Secret Wedding

What would your conclusion be if somebody sheepishly points to a ring on his wedding finger on being asked about his wedding plans?

Well, that’s exactly what British singer Ed Sheeran did when he was faced with questions about his wedding plans, during a recent interview with Scott Evans on the US entertainment TV show “Access.”

“What about the wedding details? Have you picked a date? Do you know where? Do you know when yet?” asked Evans.

The 27-year-old performer responded with a shrug, smiling bashfully as he pointed to a ring on his wedding finger.

Now, isn’t that confirmation enough?

But, wait! There’s more!

Sheeran’s gestured hint, apparently suggesting he’d already tied the knot with school-time friend and fiancée Seaborn, piqued Evan’s interest further.

“That’s exciting! Congratulations my friend! Congratulations! How did you sneak that one?” the show host pressed on, obviously seeking some kind of verbal confirmation from the Shape of You singer.

“Well, I never do anything too public anyway,” was the typical Sheeran response, which was, again, more an allusion than corroboration.

“That’s awesome! Congratulations, [I’m] happy for you!” Evans responded, seemingly convinced that Sheeran had indeed got secretly married to his lady love.

Whatever little doubt Evans might have had must have surely got dispelled by the “Thank you” and the giggles Sheeran responded with, which was, probably, the verbal acknowledgment Evans was looking for.

Known for keeping his personal life as private as he possibly can, the flame-haired celebrity had even kept his engagement under the wraps before coming clean a month a later.

In January, the Grammy Award winner posted a photo of himself kissing fiancée Seaborn, 25, captioning his post, “Got myself a fiancée just before the new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well.”

The baby-faced redhead and Seaborn, who have known each other since their high school days together, had reportedly been in a romantic relationship since 2015.

Seaborn is a hockey player and was part of the England U21 team that won the bronze medal at the 2012 European Championships.

In February last year, Sheeran dropped by at the Chelmsford Hockey Club in Essex just to watch his fiancée/wife, then his girlfriend, from the sidelines as she played for the visiting team, Wimbledon.

“I don’t believe it was a planned visit,” A Chelmsford Hockey Club spokesperson told Essex Live at the time, adding that he thought Sheeran “attended to watch his girlfriend who played for the opposition team, Wimbledon, this afternoon.”

He even spent some time posing for photos with some of the players after the match was over.

A month before he was spotted at the Essex hockey club, Sheeran had told Zane Lowe on Beats 1 that his year-long hiatus from music actually had, actually, given him the chance to fall in love.

“This has been the first time I’ve ever actually had the time to fall in love properly,” he said.

“I’ve always got into relationships very passionately – I’m a redhead and also Irish,” he quipped.

“But then I will get in a relationship and go on tour for 18 months and everything will [be ruined],” he confided.

“And I’m like, ‘Oh, what happened?’ But it’s because I had no time to put into someone.”

During that interview, he had also expressed his desire for fatherhood.

“I wanted to be a dad, like, last year. I’m ready, let’s go – tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around,” he said.

Then again, speaking on “The Kyle and Jackie O Show” in Australia Sheeran said, “Yeah, potentially. I would like some kids.”

“I always thought to have a really good career, you always had to be incredibly unhappy, and I always thought to be really happy, you had to have a bad career because I didn’t see the balance of the two,” he admitted to Clash magazine.

“And I’ve realized that that’s obviously bulls**t, and just what you tell yourself to justify it,” he said.

“I live with Cherry now. We’ve got cats, we have takeaways and watch movies, we have people round for dinner. I’ve never had that,” he said, expressing his happiness on being together with his hockey star lady love.

The couple spent most of 2016 touring together – the year he took a break from music.

The end of 2017 brought happiness for the bespectacled redhead in more ways than one: His song “Perfect” – inspired by his girlfriend and featuring Beyonce – became the Christmas Number 1, which he said was “an actual dream come true” and the other reason why last year ended well for him was his engagement – but of course!

Speaking to about “Perfect” winning the Christmas Number 1, he had said, “Thank you very much for making Perfect Christmas Number 1. This is an actual dream come true and I’m very proud and happy.”

Frustrated by the lack of recognition for her work, coupled with her husband’s dominating demeanor, Colette seeks solace in a same-sex relationship Mathilde de Morny (Marquise de Belbeuf), a French noblewoman who had no inhibitions about her sexual preference for women.

What Do We Know About Demi Lovato’s Drug Overdose?

Demi Lovato is, reportedly, “awake” and, hopefully, on her way to full recovery at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center where she was admitted after an apparent drug overdose.

“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” Lovato’s representative said in a statement, adding that “some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer, who turns twenty-six next month, was in a state of unconsciousness when first responders arrived at her Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to CNN and Page Six that they received a call at 11:22 a.m. local time, while a “senior law enforcement official” informed CNN that Lovato was, indeed, being treated at Cedars Sinai where she was responding well to treatment.

While the Los Angeles Police Department is believed to have confirmed to PEOPLE that they responded to a medical emergency at the star’s residence just before noon, they did not reveal the identity of the patient.

The Fire Department also refrained from mentioning the singer by name, saying that they “transported a 25-year-old female patient to a local hospital.”

According to TMZ, the troubled star suffered the OD after an all-night party; however, none of the partygoers were around when the emergency medical team and the police arrived on the scene.

It’s not clear, however, if they dispersed after the party was over or simply made themselves scarce after they found out their host had overdosed.

While sources close to Lovato have admitted that the singer did overdose on unspecified drugs, they have vehemently denied reports that she had overdosed on heroin.

Law enforcement sources are believed to have told The Blast that LAPD officers who responded to the emergency found drug paraphernalia and “remnants’ of what they believe are drugs all over the Lovato residence.

However, there wasn’t’ enough drug traces left over for the officers to collect for analysis, though they were able to photograph and document the evidence.

Other sources familiar with the developments have said that according to the incident report, a Cedars Sinai Medical Center nurse informed the police that Lovato had been tripping on methamphetamine prior to the OD incident.

What’s kind of perplexing, though, is the fact that methamphetamine doesn’t necessarily cause unconsciousness, which was the condition Lovato was found in by first responders.

Reports that she was treated with the anti-opioid drug Narcan, before being shifted to the hospital, also does not point toward a methamphetamine overdose.

Lovato, who has struggled with substance abuse in the past, recently released a song called “Sober,” in which she revealed that she had slipped up after staying sober for six years.

While performing the song in Brazil, a week after its release, Lovato could not control her emotions and gave a tearful rendition of the song.

“I got no excuses
For all of these goodbyes
Call me when it’s over
‘Cause I’m dying inside
Wake me when the shakes are gone
And the cold sweats disappear
Call me when it’s over
And myself has reappeared
“I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know why
I do it every, every, every time
It’s only when I’m lonely
Sometimes I just wanna cave
And I don’t wanna fight
I try and I try and I try and I try and I try
Just hold me, I’m lonely
“Momma, I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore
And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor
To the ones who never left me
We’ve been down this road before
I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore
“I’m sorry to my future love
For the man that left my bed
For making love the way I saved for you inside my head
And I’m…”

Speculations that she was binging again started doing the rounds some two months before “Sober” saw the light of day when an Instagram post by singer Hayley Kiyoko showed Lovato nursing a cup with some yellow liquid in it.

In a separate Instagram post, a different version of the same photo, in which the cup had been blurred out, she wrote, “I don’t have to defend anything, but it was Red Bull.”

Lovato’s emotional issues date back to 2010 when she first went into a rehabilitation program for “physical and emotional issues,” including depression, eating disorder, and self-harm.

It was as recently as 2017 that Lovato admitted to having relapsed after she was released from the Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center in Lemont, back then, after which she said she spent a year in a sober living facility.

“I wasn’t working my program. I wasn’t ready to get sober,” she said in a 2017 YouTube documentary titled “Simply Complicated,”

“I was sneaking it on planes, sneaking it in bathrooms, sneaking it throughout the night. Nobody knew,” the singer said.

“I went through like 20 sober companions. I was either craving drugs or on drugs,” she said.

“I was not easy to work with. It’s embarrassing to look back at the person I was.”

Following the news of her hospitalization, social media has been abuzz with support for the “Heart Attack” singer.

San Diego Comic-Con International 2018: Top 5 Exclusives

The on-going San Diego Comic-Con International (SDCC), better known simply as Comic-Con, kicked off on July 18 and is scheduled to last until July 22.

Needless to say, there’s a lot happening in and around the San Diego Convention Center, with so much to see, and do, and absorb – from cosplays, show floor, and panels to anime, athletes and whatever; not to forget all the cool exclusives that find their way into the SDCC booths for you to splurge on.

While the well-stocked booths at the convention have an eye on your hard-earned money, it’s definitely in your interest to buy all your collectibles from them rather than pay many times over for the same stuff on eBay.

Not that it’s going to be a walk in the park to get your hands on some of those hotly anticipated products making their debut at this year’s Con.

There’s always a mad race among potential buyers to grab their choice items as quickly as possible before they run out of stock.

So, competition is fierce but, again, it’s all part of the fun and festivities that are synonymous with an SDCC event – the biggest pop culture festival on the planet.

This year, however, certain conditions were put in place for high demand signings, exclusives, and booth access, in order to bring some method to the madness.

You were required to first enter a Comic-Con online lottery system, put up weeks ahead of the event, to win a ticket guaranteeing you access to a booth and the right to purchase an exclusive of your choice.

Those not selected are trying to console themselves at numerous other booths on the show floor, selling outrageously-priced stuff that are not-so-hot anymore; but, then, that’s the way the cookie crumbles, correct?

While there’s ever something new to do or see at a Comic-Con, checking out the exclusives is definitely one of the most enjoyable activities that a large majority of the event’s fans look forward to.

So, here are the top 5 exclusives from Comic-Con 2018 for you to check out.

Funko POP! Thirteenth Doctor

How long will the Funko POP! craze last?

Is the Funko POP! bubble going to burst anytime soon?

These are questions best left to the toy intellectuals to debate over and find answers to, because fans of the vinyl toy line don’t, really, give a damn.

All they care about is getting their hands on some of the company’s latest Comic-Con offerings, including the toy lookalike of Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor, which is one of our favorites.

Here’s a video Funko posted on Twitter to give you a glimpse of the company’s Disney exclusives.

Marvel Legends Defenders Rail Authority 5-Pack

As we know, toys and board games company Hasbro unveils several Marvel Cinematic Universe-specific exclusives each year at the SDCC – Comic-Con 2018 was no different.

This year’s masterpiece is a five-pack based on Netflix’s “The Defenders,” featuring the blockbuster Netflix team-up of Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Colleen Wing and Danny Rand.

Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Doctor Aphra Comic Set

There are several other Hasbro exclusives at the Con this year that demand attention, one of them being the Star Wars: Doctor Aphra Comic Set that brings you your favorite character, Chelli Lona Aphra – “the human female archaeologist recruited by Darth Vader after the Battle of Yavin.”

“Aphra, along with her assassin droid companions, 0-0-0 (Triple-Zero) and BT-1 (Beetee), fulfilled several missions for the Sith Lord before falling out of his favour.”
