How Donald Trump Proved In Many Ways as Being Racist

They say some characteristics in human beings are hereditary and inbred and children learn a lot of these traits from the peers. Hate and love are two emotional traits that one is not born with but learns and inculcates in one’s character in by observing society in general.

In other words, hatred for a certain race or religion is not natural but is indoctrinated in the minds of people like in the Southern United States in the 1800s and later during the civil war, Southerners did not consider Blacks as human beings and inflicted cruelty and pain for their mindset was that they were meant to live in servitude and serve their white masters.

Brought in from Africa and sold to white plantation owners to work on their cotton field they were subjected to all sort of atrocities, with black women being raped and boys sodomized.

This evil passed on to generations until the civil war when things really start to change.

With time and education blacks realized they had rights too and under Dr. Martin Luther King launched the civil rights movement with the result that President Lyndon B Johnson signed the civil rights bill in 1963 granting equal status to blacks.

Things have changed in a revolutionary manner and today a black aAfrican American, President Barack Obama is President of the United States.

Have things really changed ? Barack Obama was not elected to office because loved the color of his skin or that white Americans wanted to atone for the sins of their forefathers.

Obama was elected and reelected because he addressed the issues confronting the people.

In November 2016 , Obama will leave office as the 2016 elections and the new occupant of the White house will either be Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

It is a very well known fact that Hillary Clinton has no issues with the minorities that are the blacks, the Hispanics, the Mexicans nor with people of different faiths that are Muslims. Christians Jews or Hindus.

As for Donald Trump, it is a completely different ball game as witnessed during the course of his election campaign.

To appeal to White American voters, he has done everything he thinks is justified in alienating Mexicans, Hispanics, and blacks not to forget Muslims.

So the question arises is the future aspirant to the White house a racist, a bigot , xenophobic, or simply playing to the gallery .

Well, truth be told , to know someone one needs to explore his family background and it seems that trumps if not racist are biased to blacks.

In a latest New York times story It has been discovered Fred C Trump Donald Trump’s father was indeed biased in his business dealings related to housing and renting of apartments to blacks.

It seems that Maxine Brown was a model tenant who wished to rent a one-room apartment in the still-unfinished Wilshire Apartments in the Jamaica Estates neighborhood of Queens.

With excellent credentials and references, she should have been given the rental.

However, her application was kept pending on the instructions of the elder Trump as there was one hitch.

The 33-year old nurse was black.

Like father, like son Donald Trump idolized his father and has in his business dealings pursued his policies.

Trump’s attitude of rejecting black tenants was documented by activists and organizations that viewed equal housing as the next frontier in the civil rights struggle.

The Justice Department undertook its own investigation and, in 1973, sued Trump Management for discriminating against blacks.

Both the Trumps, Fred Trump, the company’s chairman, and Donald Trump, its president, were named as defendants.

This was the first time Donald Trump came into the public eye.

The Trumps denied any allegations and bias and the senior Trump went on the offensive by alleging character assignation and demands to provide housing to “welfare recipients” and a $100 million countersuit accusing the Justice Department of defamation.

However, It must be borne in mind that Fred C Trump is not running for the office of the President of the United States and his son Donald J Trump is vying for the august post.

It now seems that the Donald camp is set to woo black voters. Talk about hypocrisy.

In the latest development in this context, Trump has tweeted that the shooting death of

National Basketball Association star Dwyane Wade’s cousin in Chicago is an example of why African-Americans should vote for him in November.

This caused an uproar and outrage online from basketball fans, celebrities, and others.

Nike Aldridge, a 32-year-old mother of four, was pushing a stroller in Chicago’s Parkway Gardens section Friday afternoon as two men exchanged gunfire. She was struck in the arm and the head by stray bullets and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Wade is a 34-year-old shooting guard, 12-time NBA All-Star, and two-time Olympian who recently left the Miami Heat to sign with his hometown Chicago Bulls.

Trump has called Hillary Clinton a ‘ bigot’ a typical and classic example of the pot calling the kettle black.

Trump plays on the psyche of voters mentioning the misery and deprivations blacks have had to endure and they should vote for him to change their lot .

Meeting with African-American and Hispanic Republican leaders at New York’s Trump Tower last week he tried to put the message across.

Last week, speaking at a rally in Virginia he repeated his call that they had nothing to lose as they were already living in poverty, studying in no good schools and 58% youth unemployed.

Many detractors world argue that being in miserable circumstances does not in any way imply that you should sell your soul to the devil.

Similarly, Trump has alienated the Muslim community by calling for a complete ban on Muslims entering the U.S.A. Once again he has struck the fear psyche of people demonizing Muslims.

What Trump does not seem to realize that a lone wolf’s action has nothing to do with Muslims at all and that terrorists are not Muslims and Muslims are not terrorists.

After all, What Hitler did to the jews does not make the entire german race antijewish or responsible for his actions.

It is understandable that there will be a backlash in the aftermath of Terrorist bombing attributed to a Muslim. However, that does not mean that Trump should politicize the matter for personal voter gain.

Another negative feature of Donald’s campaign has been his vilification of women whom he has not given their due respect.

That is why he has promoted Kelly Anne Conway as his campaign manager whose job will be to woo women voters in large numbers.

Trump’s rhetoric and slogan ‘Make America great again” has appealed to white American voters and rich retirees in Florida and other states.

Veterans also have to some extent endorsed him but the problem is that Trump does not have a game plan by which he can convince voters as how he can make America great again.

The job of the U S president is the most important in the world for the US president is the Commander-in-Chief of the US Army, Navy, Air Force and US marines.

He also has access to the nuclear codes which can trigger the launch of nuclear missiles.

It is the highest position of responsibility anyone can have. At this point in time, Donald Trump has not displayed the sense of responsibility the people expect of him. Many would say that he is not presidential material nor has the presidential credentials.

As for Hillary Clinton, well the world knows she has been in politics for over three decades fulfilling roles as the First Lady of Arkansas when husband Bill was Governor followed by the First Lady of the USA while Bill was president for 8 years.

She then became Senator of New York, President Obama’s Secretary of State and now the Democratic nominee for the office of the US president.

With such credentials, her supporters say that she is tailored for the job. With less than 90 days to go, it is going to be a grueling, tough, no holds barred, hard hitting and ruthless campaign .

The national polls say that Hillary is in the lead by 6 points in some states and 4 in others. The CNN debates which are a good barometer to gauge the standings will start next month .

Although Trump has the advantage of being a better speaker and sways his audience he is not focused on issues. Hillary, on the other hand, is an expert in US foreign policy , health and childcare issues, women’s issues etc.

The question of racism, hate mongering spreading fear and hysteria among the masses by trump will certainly be brought up by the Hillary camp.

The elections are on a knife’s edge and the slightest foul up could cost the candidates dearly.

If ethics and morality were to be the yardstick to judge the outcome of this US election Then Hillary Rodham Clinton would be far ahead to reach the finishing post than her unpredictable rival. Only time will tell.

Italy witnessed Mass Funeral and It was heartbreaking

It has always been man’s consistent endeavor to prepare and build safety measures for themselves to protect themselves from the forces of nature. In prehistoric times, people lived in caves and lit fires to ward off  not only marauding predators but also to protect themselves from rain, wind, heat and other calamities that might befall him.

In prehistoric times, people lived in caves and lit fires to ward off  not only marauding predators but also to protect themselves from rain, wind, heat and other calamities that might befall him.

The shelter is absolutely important for man for if exposed to the harsh elements of nature he will not survive for long.

Over the centuries man has struggled to ward off natural calamities with everything at his disposal but has never really been successful in his effort.

Today, we live in an era where the world has become so advanced and technology so sophisticated  and improved that with the help of satellite technology, seismic studies, computers and a lot of  digital information, storm warnings, flood warnings, blizzards, cyclones and floods can be pinpointed and  emergency measures are taken even before it happens.

Seismic activity studies the movements of earth’s shifting crust creating seismic waves and earthquakes are predicted  accordingly .

Despite man’s tall claims that major disasters if not possible to stop it is possible to minimize the damage is merely an eyewash.

Since times immemorial man has been unable to challenge or fight the  relentless fury that Mother Nature unleashes upon him from time to time.

Natural disasters such as earthquakes, Tsunamis, floods, violent storm, blizzards are things one  can never cope with at all.

Earthquakes and the resulting Tsunamis have caused immense devastation and wreaked  havoc on cities and its people

In  Sumatra, Indonesia . a massive earthquake hit the seabed of the Indian ocean on December 26th, 2004 with a magnitude of 9.1 on the Richter scale causing such a massive tsunami the after effects were felt and reached the Maldives and Thailand. It was estimated that 5 Tsunamis hit the coast of the Indian Oceans causing colossal destruction and death.

By some estimates over 225,00 people lost their lives in the calamity with 7 billion dollars worth of  rescue and damage loss incurred within 10 minutes of the strike.

The 2005 Kashmir Earthquake in Pakistan struck at  08:50:39 Pakistan Standard Time on 8 October in the Pakistani territory of Azad Kashmir,  It was one of the worst natural disasters to hit Pakistan with over more than 1,00000  fatalities and hundreds of thousand injured or missing and centered near the city of  Muzaffarabad. The quake affected other parts of Pakistan too such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Indian Jammu and Kashmir.

Many school buildings collapsed as a result of which it is estimated that 19,000 children were killed and almost 2.5 million people rendered homeless.

Emergency services were paralyzed. Infrastructure was destroyed and virtually communication was non-existent.

The Government of Pakistan was stretched to its limits and international aid agencies mobilized rescue services .

Relief supplies could not reach the affected due to treacherous mountain terrain and severely  damaged roads. The Pakistan Army airlifted supplies to the remotest parts of the area. For the residents of the area, it was hell on earth.

In the capital, An apartment complex Margalla Towers collapsed and many were killed. A special British rescue team with special mechanized equipment flew in to search for survivors buried in the debris.

It can really be described as Pakistan’s worst moment.

On April 25th, 2015, Nepal witnessed one of the history’s worst earthquakes which claimed over 5000 lives and destroyed many historical sites. The devastation wreaked by the quake was quite incomprehensible to seismologists.

The latest earthquake  has  struck central Italy  measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale with its epicenter close to Accumoli  and its hypocenter at a depth of 4 ± 1 km,[2] approximately 75 km (47 mi) southeast of Perugia 45 km north of  L’Aquila .

It is estimated that 290 people have been reported to be killed .

Italy is in a state of mourning as a state funeral  for 35 victims was held on Monday.

Poignant scenes were witnessed as weeping relatives hugged each other  and touched the wooden coffins to try to fathom as why their town was struck.

The most heart-rending scene was the presence of two tiny coffins , that of an 18-year old baby and a  9-year-old. These children were among 21 children known to have been killed.

Even as the 35 caskets were brought to a sports hall , rescue workers were still digging through the rubble in the town of Amratice  the worst affected by the quake.

Top  politicians including the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi and President Sergio Mattarella attended the funeral services. They stayed behind after the service to mingle with the mourners.

When earthquakes hit small towns or communities where everyone seems to know each other the grief  pervades the entire atmosphere.

Nine more bodies were recovered from the town on Saturday, including three pulled overnight from the crumpled Hotel Roma, bringing the death toll in Amatrice alone to 230 residents and tourists.

There will, of course, be a political fallout of the disaster as many believe the government could have built earthquake proof buildings to avert such a disaster.

Renzi has promised to rebuild the shattered communities and the mayor of Amatrice urged the government to learn the lessons of painfully slow post-quake reconstructions of the past.

More than 1.350 aftershocks were felt in the aftermath of the quake according to the Italian. The Italian geological institute said more than 1,350 aftershocks had hit Italy’s central mountains since Wednesday’s pre-dawn 6.2-magnitude quake.

Italy sits on two fault lines, making it one of the most seismically active countries in Europe. Almost 30 people died in earthquakes in northern Italy in 2012 and more than 300 in the city of L’Aquila in 2009.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the Government has decided to build simple, wooden chalet-style huts within three months for the 2,500 people displaced by the 24 August earthquake.

Prime Minister Matteo Renzi discussed reconstruction plans on Sunday with Renzo Piano, one of Italy’s most renowned architects.

The authorities face the challenge of getting survivors into safe, warm accommodation before the winter, which can get very cold in the quake-hit region of the Apennine mountains.

The homes will be built close to the damaged or destroyed homes of the people according to the Italian media.

The construction must start fast as winter is about to set in and authorities will put people up in hotels till the houses are completed.

It is  very heartening to note that in developed countries the government leaves no stone unturned to alleviate the suffering of its people. Italy is one of the most developed countries of Europe and will act decisively.

Unfortunately, that is not the case as even now 11 years after the quake in Pakistan many people have not been rehabilitated.

As Italy mourns its dead the world shares its grief but the question still remains high on the agenda. How can such disasters be averted? Is it really possible to stop an earthquake from splintering the earth?

Well, sadly the answer is no. Mother nature can neither be tamed nor leashed. There are many who believe that nature balances itself in controlling the population a theory expounded in the Malthusian theory.

Whatever the cause and effect, the people who are affected by such calamities go through untold trauma, shock with feelings of helplessness and despair and it can take years before any semblance of recovery is observed.

Those who lose their entire families, hearth, and home are the worst sufferers in the world.

The world must unite in the face of natural disasters. Already the world is suffering through a crisis which is man-made like the war in Syria, the resulting refugee crisis all of which could have been avoided had saner heads prevailed.

The developed and richer countries should do more to fund research in climate change, global warming, seismic studies and finds ways and means to mitigate the affected people.

The world is already facing acute water shortage especially in the underdeveloped countries of the world .

Over time millions have suffered on account of natural disasters. Man’s greatest characteristic is that he has a natural instinct for survival as history is witness to this. Two world wars, conflicts all over the world further exacerbated by natural calamities and yet he perseveres

The Japanese and the Germans have proved that with resilience, courage and determination they can be rebuilt from the ashes of defeat.

The Japanese suffered in the Tsunami of 2011 and one of their nuclear reactors was badly damaged but being what they are they set things right within the shortest possible time. They are building earthquake proof homes in the fault line areas of the region.

There is already the potential risk that global warming will melt the polar ice caps and in 20 to 30 years countries under sea level are most likely to be submerged.

The world must act now before we all go under the sea.

Div Turakhia Became a Billionaire

They say some people are born with the Midas touch, that is to say, that whatever they delve into or venture into they always come out making lucrative profits.

What traits or qualities do these young entrepreneurs have that the average Joe does not. Intrepid, daring, risk takers, far-sighted, ingrained business acumen or just sheer street-smart bravado.

On the other hand, one can argue that this is all providential and it was predestined for them to become billionaires in life.

There are many people who have really made it big simply because they have worked hard, realized the importance of money, and through their business acumen made it good.

Richard Branson, the British billionaire started off small, with a small magazine called Slender and then started selling records under the name Virgin Records with the end result that he is the presently the owner of the Virgin group comprising over 400 companies.

Many people have had their rags to riches story and some of them worth mentioning are

Roman Abramovich: Owner of Chelsea Football Club and Russian business tycoon Abramovich Net worth net 2 billion dollars was born in abject poverty, orphaned at age 2. He went on to start a small business while a student and has never looked back since.

Oprah Winfrey: Leading entertainer, Talk show host, activist. and one of the best-known personalities in the USA and probably the world was born dirt poor. Despite setbacks, she won a scholarship to Tennessee State University and become the first African-American correspondent at the age 19. She moved to Chicago in 1983 and started her own T.V show called The Oprah Winfrey Show. Net worth $ 3 billion.

Shahid Khan: He started life in the USA working as a dishwasher when he came to the USA from Pakistan. He now owns Flex-n-Gate one of the largest private companies in the U.S.A. His net worth is 4.5 billion dollars.

It seems that billionaires are getting younger and smarter as time progresses for one such young man who has recently joined the billionaires club has not even attained the age of 35.

He is Divyank Turakhaia, an enterprising and daring young man who along with his brother Bhavin runs several companies including Directi a global company which they run. They have homes in Mumbai, Dubai, Vancouver and San Francisco.

The elder brother Bhavin runs the company which they started borrowing 500 dollars from their father, an accountant by profession.

The brain behind the company is Div who created a contextual advertising company which they sold to a Chinese consortium for 900 million dollars.

The brothers did not raise venture funding and used profits of one company to start another and they have earned almost all the money.

Although the amount in question does not get them in Forbes 400 but it speaks volumes of the business acumen and force of intellect of Div.

He is representative of the young, dynamic enterprising , intrepid and has realized the American dream, a dream even Americans are unable to realize.

The Internet has proven to be a goldmine to those who are high tech savvy Div being one of them.

Div loved video games ever since he was a child so much so that he loved to create him. He started coding at age eight. He spent most of his 13th writing a game the theme of which the theme was that a player was a businessman who has lost his fortunes to a deceitful partner.

The point of the game was to create a new business from scratch. To win, you had to capture 100% of the market share.

This is how he put his skills to use and became so successful in life. From helping kids with their homework to helping companies he like Nasscom to get temporary connectivity up for a running conference.

They say knowledge is gold and in this day and age Internet knowledge is the absolute goldmine. People who are knowledgeable about the ins and outs of Information Technology have it made for themselves.

Div was deeply interested in broadening his intellect and read voraciously books on tech like people like Bill Gates, According to Div himself, he has read more than 11 books on Gates.

From there on there was no looking back he and his brother built up the company with the 500 dollars rented a server and started a web hosting company, their first customers were the businesses for whom they had consulted.

They paid their father back within a month . By this time money was coming in. Among their first clients were NASSCOM and the Nationalist Congress Party.

Div made his first million dollars at the age of 18 when was not even a graduate. His mother insisted he get a college degree and he complied and enrolled in a local college but hardly attended classes and at the age of 20 became a graduate obtained a B.com degree.

As they say “ If you have it flaunt it” and Div subscribes to this view literally. A flamboyant and extravagant lifestyle he is a trendsetter, a globe trotter, jetting in and out of countries at very short notices.

While in Dubai, A friend of his Stefan Weitz, a senior director of strategy and partnerships at Microsoft at the time had a 9-hour layover in Dubai and just happened to call in Div.

Div whizzed in at Dubai airport in a stretch rolls Royce limousine and after dining on the 122nd floor of the took him on a night safari in a Mercedes Defenders with night vision goggles, looking for scorpions and marsupial-type creatures. He was later dropped off by Div for his connecting flight at the eleventh hour.

Div loves being rich and spending it as well, He has homes in San Francisco, Dubai , Vancouver, and Mumbai. Unlike other millionaires or billionaires who wear casual clothes like jean and sneakers, Div goes for The Top-of-the-line stuff.

He struts his wealth openly wearing Gucci blazers, designer label jeans, drives the world’s most expensive cars such as Ferrari Spider 458 in San Francisco, A Roll Royce Phantom in Dubai and a Mercedes S class and a Porsche in Mumbai.

At a friend’s 40th birthday in Switzerland, he showed up wearing a lederhosen and flew in a Michelin Chef for the occasion .

At a European tech conference founders in Dublin. Ireland he booked the presidential suite at the Westbury hotel even upstaging Lady Gaga who was there at the time.

Going to a meeting in San Francisco, he picked up Jackie Reses , Yahoo’s chief dealmaker at the time, in his Ferrari 458 Spider. That’s his U. S. car. In Dubai, he has a Rolls-Royce Phantom. In Mumbai, a Mercedes-Benz S-Class and a Porsche.

Although popular with ladies, Div has his work as his first passion. He believes that the best part of spending the fortune is making the fortune.

A daring young man, Div enjoys the high life to the fullest, Dune buggy, skydiving, bungee jumping, diving in a cage in shark-infested waters off the coast of South Africa, his adventurous spirit is timeless.

In his latest crazy stunt, he stood on top of a 1934 Boeing-Stearman biplane, its double wings sandwiching the cockpit like an Oreo cookie as it climbed s toward the cloud line. Div Harnessed himself to a pole in the center to ride on the wings. A feeling of elation and sensation as he soars the air and the plane does 120 miles per hour.

Such people have no way to go but up in life and Divyank Turakhia has proven to the world

That with courage, daring, intellect and sheer honest hard work the sky is the limit.

The Internet is the gateway to these young talented young men who have the vision, the technical know-how, and the business acumen to make it big through the portal world.

It is almost every day that we hear of new millionaires from all over the world. Mushrooming in the world of Information Technology and it will be no wonder and surprise that these young entrepreneurs will outclass and outshine the likes of Bill gates, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison Steve Wozniak and other geniuses who have made it through the portal world.

Who knows that at the rate at which Div Turakhia is progressing he may well outrank, in the not too distant future, Bill gates as the richest man in the world. For after all wonders hath never cease to exist.

Donald Trump Hires Media Firebrand for His Presidential Campaign

The key to success in life is strategy, planning, organization and of course excellent public relations as well as social interaction skills.

Whether one is promoting a brand label, launching a major new product in the market or managing an election campaign, It is virtually impossible to get anywhere without applying the aforementioned traits or skills.

We live in a world of digital information where access to any information is just a click away and along with images the newsfeed is assessed and evaluated for its content and value.

So projection is also very important, in ads or promos as the purpose is to reach out to the audience and relate to them in a positive manner.

However in politics, the going is not so easy as politics means handling a politician, not a mean feat as it means image marketing, personality projection, whitewashing the negative or sweeping under the rug the negative points of the politician.

The US Presidential campaign is by far perhaps by far the most difficult and greatest campaign of any for it involves intense media projection, public relations, publicity and image promotion.

A politician is virtually turned into a robot and taught how to speak, dress, move, mingle, walk, interact, smile, frown and when and how to kiss babies also.

In 1988, It is said that the Late Benazir Bhutto hired the P. R. firm Saatchi & Saatchi to promote her image which did wonder to helping her win the 1988 elections.

Big campaigns mean big money and the US Elections are the most expensive, demanding and challenging.

It is therefore absolutely necessary to choose a campaign team which can do no wrong. Guarantee positive results and give the opposition a run for their money.

In the current US Election campaign, Hillary Clinton the Democratic Party nominee for the president is running a solid and effective campaign which is not one can say of her rival Donald Trump.

The Donald Trump camp is in total disarray, partly because of his foolishness, shooting off his mouth and greatly due to his arrogance.

Trump is falling behind and in order to save his campaign, he has brought on board new people.

On Wednesday, Trump overhauled his campaign teaming appointing a media firebrand Steve Bannon, head of the Breitbart News website, as campaign chief executive officer, a new position. He also promoted senior adviser Kellyanne Conway to the post of campaign manager.

The question arises who is Stephen Bannon and what are his credentials. Will he save Trump and turn around the campaign in the less than three months that it has or will he send Trump into oblivion?

However, Conway a data-driven analyst may help Trump appeal to women voters.

Bannon has a Navy and finance background and has worked with the US investment firm Goldman Sachs. He was also the adviser to Sarah Palin and has been a long time Trump advisor.

He became executive chairman of Breitbart’s News Service in 2012 after the death of its owner Andrew Breitbart.

Breitbart’s venture into fame was by breaking news about a series of scandals involving companies, liberal politicians, and bureaucrats.

Republicans say the website is partisan in its approach and misleads readers on non-issues.

They say one does not change horses in midstream which is what Donald Trump has done in order to make his campaign more coherent to voters.

Will Bannon be able to deliver and dance to the tune the Donald plays? Many republicans believe it is too late.

As for Conway, she is analytical and concerned with the numbers and adopts a pragmatic attitude to winning. Bannon, however, is likened to a bull in a china shop. He will probably fight dirty as he likes to take the fight up a notch.

Although, Conway and Bannon may have opposing ideas and different styles they have one vision and aim which is to put the Donald into the White House.

Hillary Clinton is about to face fierce opposition and probably has to face a salvo of accusations as Bannon is the producer of the short film  ‘Clifton Cash’ accusing the Clintons of taking big money from high profile donors for the Clinton Foundation.
Trump trails Clinton in national opinion polls and in many battleground states, potentially facing a big defeat that could also cost Republicans congressional races.

Trump, is only being heard by conservative white voters who say he speaks the truth .

His recent spat with the parents of a Muslim U.S. Army Captain has been a new low and even republicans have distanced themselves from the issue.

The Donald refuses to change his style or stance and continues to draw the ire of many Americans.

He has since faced a barrage of criticism from Republicans over his campaign style and his refusal to stick to a policy message. In particular, he has been rebuked for his prolonged feud with the family of a Muslim U.S. Army captain who was killed in the Iraq war.

Meanwhile as is the won’t, Donald Trump received his first intelligence briefing from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Intelligence officials brief the major-party U.S. presidential candidates on foreign policy and national security issues but do not disclose ultra-sensitive information about ongoing U.S. undercover operations, methods or the identities of intelligence sources.

Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign manager, who was brought in, in June is either on his way out or just been demoted as he failed in his efforts to contain the antics of the Donald.

Manafort drew unwelcome attention this week when The New York Times reported his name was on secret ledgers showing cash payments designated to him of more than $12 million from a Ukrainian political party with close ties to Russia. Manafort denied any impropriety.

Hillary Clinton has clearly stated that Trump is temperamentally unsuited for the White House, reorganization of staff or anything would change Trump and his rhetoric.

“Donald Trump has shown us who he is, he can hire and fire anybody he wants from his campaign, they can make him read new words from a teleprompter, but he is still the same man who insults Gold Star families, demeans women, mocks people with disabilities and thinks he knows more about ISIS than our generals,” she told a rally in Ohio.

Conway and Bannon may prove to be opposing forces in Trump’s campaign. Conway is analytical and numbers-driven and often offers a more pragmatic approach to winning campaigns. She is expected to travel with Trump. Bannon likes to push the limits of polite conversation and revels in taking the fight up a notch, strategists say.

“For Steve and I, we also recognize that we are different when we say we have different styles, but we have one vision,” Conway told reporters.

As mentioned earlier Bannon was instrumental in producing and promoting a movie called “Clinton Cash” that accused Bill and Hillary Clinton of doing favors for high-dollar donors to the Clinton Foundation charity, a theme that Trump has been touching on in his campaign speeches.

“My guess is Bannon will be a bull in a china shop and Conway will be focused on messaging and paid media,” said Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak.

However, overhauling campaign staff with the appointment of Bannon suggested Trump was aiming not to tone down his aggressive style but to be more disciplined in emphasizing themes that resonate strongly with the voters he is trying to court, such as his tough stance against illegal immigration and withering personal criticism of Clinton.

The man is incorrigible according to many experts and many in the Republican party believe themselves Trump will not be able to deliver.

The shift to new leadership may not be a good sign at this stage of a campaign, but some Republican strategists said it was not too late for Trump.

“I’ve thought for a while that they’ve needed smarter, senior people and it looks like they just got them,” said Republican strategist Charlie Black. “It’s only the middle of August. This race is going to be close in the end, but he does need to tighten up his performance.”

Conway told Fox News she was advising Trump to take “his case directly to the people.” “With Donald Trump, he is still his own best messenger because people see him as very authentic.”.

She has worked to improve the Republican Party’s standing with women voters and to push back on Democratic accusations that Republicans are waging a “war on women.”

The current polls average of national opinion polls puts Clinton six percentage points ahead of Trump, at 47.2 percent to his 41.2 percent.

He may have a new fighting team to help him and support him but it seems that Trump still needs to get his bearings corrected.

It only remains to be seen how the next 3 months will end up but one thing is sure , there will be a lot of bruising and bullying in this campaign and the winning candidate will not emerge entirely unscathed.

BuzzFeed, a Company Here to Stay for a Long Time

The media and entertainment industry is a very highly profitable business which is why everyone wants a piece of the pie and more and more companies are getting into the business .

In the eighties, Ted Tuner a creative and innovative person launched the 24 hours news cable channel CNN which revolutionized the media industry.

CNN was what the world wanted with its brilliant and precise reporting and coverage of every major event in the world especially the 1986 challenger Disaster and the 1991 coverage of Operation Desert Storm.

CNN has become a household name but sadly television is also becoming obsolete and the Net is the craze of the hour.

This is why there are more media related sites coming in the Portal world.

One such company is BuzzFeed based in one of the greatest cities of the world, New York City.

BuzzFeed is a social news and entertainment with a strong focus on digital media and digital technology.

The company’s aim is to provide shareable breaking news, original reporting, entertainment, and video.

Founded in 2006 by Jonah Peretti and John S Johnson, it was initially a viral lab tracking down viral content.

Before establishing BuzzFeed, Peretti who has vast experience in the field experimented with other contagious media as director of research and development and the OpenLab at EveBeam, Johnson’s New York City-based art and technology non-profit. The company has grown into a global media and technology company providing coverage on a variety of topics including politics, DIY, animals and business.

The company it seems is drawing attention to itself as once being known as’ bored at work’ network it is now a digital media powerhouse.

Peretti has attributed the company’s success to three companies that greatly influenced him historically. the first being Paramount Pictures that started more than 100 years ago, Paramount Pictures, which owned a film production studio, its own cast of talent, and its own distribution channel in the form of theaters. “That allowed them to adapt and change as the market changed,” says Peretti.

Peretti’s second fascination is with CNN and its founder Ted Turner as mentioned earlier who launched the 24-hour news operation at a fraction of the cost of what the networks spent, due in part to the prescient use of satellite and cable technology.

And then there’s Jay-Z. The rapper and his music. Peretti, who grew up in Oakland, California, attended public school in the 1990s where, he says, “The only music was black music.” Later in life when Peretti, now 42, made friends with people who loved indie rock bands, he noticed “this weird thing where it’s like, the band that they love, they go to all their shows, but as soon as they have a record deal, ‘I don’t like them anymore.’ ” There was a similar attitude among bloggers, he says, who had a “deeply tortured relationship with popularity. The mainstream media is somehow evil, bad, or selling out.” Peretti didn’t share this angst. “With BuzzFeed, I always felt like, let’s have as big an impact as we can. Let’s grow this into something giant.”

BuzzFeed has built its success, like Paramount a century ago, by owning all the elements of a modern media business: a global news team, its own video production studio, a sophisticated data operation, and an in-house creative ad agency. Just as Ted Turner embraced cable before cable was cool, Peretti has pushed BuzzFeed to tailor its content to each emerging social channel, from Snapchat to Pinterest. And BuzzFeed is expanding globally, from the U.K. to Brazil, India to Mexico, Germany to Australia.

BuzzFeed publisher Dao Nguyen, Motion Pictures president Ze Frank, and CEO Jonah Peretti keep BuzzFeed weird—and powerful—by never getting too comfortable.

BuzzFeed has become the envy of the media world. Peretti is reputed to be one of most astute observers of Internet behavior. BuzzFeed’s success is also attributed because it is rooted in a dynamic learning-driven culture.

Everyone who’s ever shared a BuzzFeed post on Facebook thinks they understand the company.

Peretti likes BuzzFeed’s secret to a fleet of self-driving cars: Each car learns from every other autonomous vehicle on the road, so eventually they’re all thousands of times smarter.

The other secret to BuzzFeed’s success is a culture that embraces constant change yet remains devoted to data-driven metrics. That’s a tricky combination, but essential for any company hoping to thrive in today’s tumultuous business climate.

BuzzFeed Motion Pictures which is part of the portal publishes about 65 original videos every week—for YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, as well as for brands. It has 52,000-square-foot production studio on Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles. There’s a soundstage, a test kitchen, a prop room as large as a vintage store, two bungalows with rooms that serve as reusable indoor sets, and a clear view of the Hollywood sign from the roof. In short, the new digs have everything one would expect in a traditional movie studio.

Ze Frank Buzzfeed
Ze Frank is the head of BuzzFeed Motion Pictures.

BuzzFeed’s video plans also include a partnership with Comcast’s NBCUniversal which invested a huge sum of 200million around the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. While NBC works on it’s traditional (and arguably calcified) “up close and personal” TV segments on prospective American Olympians, BuzzFeed was invited to film its own interviews. They asked the athletes goofy questions, such as, “Have you ever seen a live turkey?”—and then unleashed a turkey on set to capture athletes’ reactions. The result is “a video that they think is going to go mega-vi,” says NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke. That’s shorthand for “mega-viral” by the way—and no, Burke had never heard the term before either.

Creativity, innovation, thinking out of the box is what has made BuzzFeed so successful. Peretti is a digital genius and he applies his craft to its fullest

Peretti’s vision is shaped by his restless curiosity . In high school, he saved his money from doing yard work to buy a Macintosh computer. He discovered the Netscape browser as a sophomore in college, and upon graduation from the University of California, Santa Cruz, interviewed at a tech startup but decided that a $24,000-per-year job teaching computers at a private school in New Orleans was more interesting.

Peretti is also co-founder of the Huffington Post also which was his introduction to start-ups and business. His zest for experimenting made him go off and HuFFo’s investors gave him seed money.

He has what can be described as an insatiable appetite for more creativity and despite the fact that BuzzFeed currently employs approximately 1,200 people and is valued at $1.5 billion, Peretti still largely thinks of it as his teaching workshop.

Dao Nguyen is the publisher at BuzzFeed named by Peretti in 2014 while Ben Smith is the Editor-in-chief whose job is to handle the journalists.

Dao is not responsible for all the content but she is entrusted d with figuring out how articles and videos travel across all the platforms where BuzzFeed plays.

BuzzFeed’s makes money by achieving viral lift for its customers. It houses a branded studio that produces lists, quizzes, and (increasingly) customized video for clients such as HBO, Taco Bell, and Ford .Copywriters have access to the same data insights as everyone else at the company. BuzzFeed places native ads—which are designed to look like the content where they appear—not only on its own site but everywhere it distributes its editorial. What’s more, many brands value BuzzFeed’s social wizardry so much that they hire the company simply to distribute their traditional ads to a targeted audience, primarily on Facebook. (This helps explain why BuzzFeed appears to spend so much money there.)

The business model is inspired in part by Google, which “built a search engine where you put in a keyword and you get relevant results, and you also get relevant sponsor results,” Peretti explains. “It’s the same engine that’s powering recommendations to queries. When they get better at doing that core thing for consumers, they also make more money.”

Selling ads at BuzzFeed fall primarily to Greg Coleman, a former HuffPo colleague of Peretti’s who joined as president in the summer of 2014, and CMO Frank Cooper, who came over from PepsiCo a year later. Their task is to make BuzzFeed a core part of marketers’ advertising budget, despite its unorthodox approach. “I can’t do, ‘Oh, look at my cool BuzzFeed way,’, ” Coleman says. “I have to hold BuzzFeed to the same standards for efficiency, research, and proof points, use down-and-dirty syndicated research, things that they know.”

“Brands have to figure out how not just to be sponsors, they need to become creators,” says CMO Frank Cooper. “That’s what we’re trying to teach them.”

It seems that in a few years BuzzFeed will rank as the biggest , most creative news media company for Peretti is a visionary who understands, experiments, test and ensure the complete and absolute success of the company. Yes, BuzzFeed is the portal to access for all.

Refugees System is Failing and the World is Silent

The world can probably never forget the image of the lifeless body of 3-year old Alan Kurdi, the little Syrian boy, who washed ashore on the beach in Turkey on the 02 September 2015.

Alan, was yet another victim, probably the youngest in a crisis that has sent ripples of shockwaves throughout the world. The cries of the Syrian refugees are reverberating and sadly enough it seems to be falling on deaf ears except for a few European countries especially Germany and its great humane leader Angela Merkel.

Kurdi’s family members were hoping to join their relatives after his aunt Tima Kurdi residing in Vancouver, British Columbia filed for refugee sponsorship, but due to documentation problems the application was rejected as Turkey refused the exit visa.

The family had no other recourse but to take the smuggler’s route and traveled in rickety boats across the Mediterranean. The family paid $ 5860 for 4 spaces but the raft type boat was in poor condition and as a result of heavy waves it capsized . Alan’s mother and his brother Ghalib also died.

Alan Kurdi (Aylan Kurdi)
Alan Kurdi (Aylan Kurdi) dead body in Turkey

The images of Alan Kurdi lying on the beach caused international outrage and world leaders become cognizant of their responsibilities. The Canadian Government investigated the case of Kurd’s family application and Parliament reviewed its immigration laws.

The civil war in Syria has created one of the worst refugees’ crisis ever since the second world war and there seems to be no end to the human suffering due to the conflict.

Forces opposed to the regime of President Bashar Al Asad are fighting his Army throughout the length and breadth of the country and Assad troops are heavily supported by Russia and its President Vladimir Putin while the rebel forces are being supplied by the US and its allies.

There is neither a military solution to the conflict nor a political one. To exacerbate the conflict IS or Islamic State have seized several towns in Syria and adding to the carnage and mayhem.

In the face of bloody onslaughts on both Iraq and Syria and destruction of entire cities, what else can the people do but to flee for their lives?

The boat people have been arriving on Mediterranean shores long before the Syrian crisis but now the situation has increased manifold.
Besides genuine refugees, economic migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka ply this route also.

According to figures by the United Nations High Commissioner for refugees (UNHCR), the top three nationalities of the over one million Mediterranean sea arrivals between January 2015 and March 2016 were Syrian 46% , Afghans, (20.9%) and Iraqi (9.4%).

The break-up of the refugees in 2015, where 58% were men, 17% women, and 25% children. A total number of 1200 people died in April 2015 when five boats carrying almost 2000 migrants sank in the cold waters of the Mediterranean.

The crisis and ongoing conflict in many African and Asian states swelled the ranks of displaced persons almost to 60 million and which contributed to an upsurge in sea arrivals from Libya to Italy.

The Italian Government tried its best to stem the tide or flow of refugees by launching Operation Mare Nostrum later replaced by Operation Triton but due to the huge influx major European countries stopped funding further compounding the crisis.

Greece had overtaken Italy by mid-2015 as the destination for migrants and even Alan Kurdi’s family were attempting to reach the Greek island of Kos.

After little Alan’s drowning Europe was in a quandary about what to do to mitigate the crisis. The problem was so monumental that there was no solution in sight . European ministers huddled together to look for a solution and many countries agreed each would absorb a limited number of refugees.

It was only the magnanimity and greatness of the German Leader Angela Merkel who agreed to allow a million refugees to enter the country. Despite fierce opposition Merkel who can best be described as the Queen of Humanity stood her ground.

It is sad to state but most of the refugees fleeing conflict from Iraq and Syria are Muslims and yet the Muslim world did not lift a finger to accommodate the refugees.

Rich Arab countries, like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait. Qatar, UAE, and Bahrain refused to take in a single refugee and left it to the Europeans to handle the crisis.

They may have given the monetary donation but nothing else. The sad and bitter fact of the matter is they are not part of the solution but part of the problem.

It is well known that Qatar and Saudi Arabia have sympathies for IS and may have contributed funds, the Saudi contention perhaps being IS will be a front against its arch nemesis Iran.

Iran, so, is battling IS and supporting Bashar Al Asad and even have influenced the Lebanese Shia militant group Hezbollah to send its fighters to Damascus to protect the Shrine of Syeda Zainab, the Prophet’s Granddaughter.

Turkey is housing one million refugees but Turkey is facing the brunt of IS attacks while many European countries are applying strict border controls to stop the influx.

The United States and Canada have also granted immigration to these refugees but the crisis is far from over.

So the question comes, has the world failed in its obligation to resolve the refugee crisis?

The answer may be ambiguous but one thing is sure , the World has not acted fast enough in conflict resolution . Had the powers of the world been united to resolve the crisis in Syria and Iraq, the refugee crisis would not have reached monumental proportions.

The USA as a matter of tradition and policy does not see eye to eye with the Russians and mutual distrust and suspicion has played a vital role in escalating the crisis.

Vladimir Putin, the Russian President wants to restore the lost glory of the Russians and is playing a dominant role to oppose US policy globally. He is also hoping that Donald Trump is elected President of the USA as Trump has vowed to cut down NATO funding and American forces which will boost Russian interest in other areas like the Ukraine.

Coming back to the refugee’s crisis one can say that Europe, USA, and Canada are doing all in its power to ease their suffering but the task is gigantic.

Pakistan and Turkey stretched to their limits are housing more than a million refugees. In Pakistan’s case, they are not Syrians or Iraqis but Afghans who have been in the country for more than 3 decades having fled from the conflict that is, from the Taliban which has been stirring it up for the last 30 years. So, in other words, Pakistan can ill afford to cater to Iraqi or Syrian refugees. Even if they could the refugees in question would prefer the greener pastures of Europe or North America rather than this troubled region.

Angela Merkel of Germany can be described as the Queen of humanity. She is the savior of Europe, first bailing out fiscally troubled countries like Greece, Spain and Portugal and now handling the refugee crisis like a true and great world leader that she is.

Even though IS related incidents and the New year’s eve asylum seekers misbehavior and sexual overtures to German women in the city of Cologne sparked outrage she contended that all refugees were not to blame for the problems at large.

It should also note that those who create such crisis should be held accountable and reminded of their responsibility. Bashar Al Asad in his quest to hold on to power has unleashed one of the greatest humanitarian problems of the time. Had he had the vision of realizing the consequences of his folly he would have relinquished power.

The great powers that be, must resolve this conflict just as they brought about the Iran nuclear deal to avert a volatile situation between probably Iran and Israel.

Saner heads should prevail. IS with its demented doctrine must be wiped out completely. Taliban must be reined in.

Refugee crisis from human conflict is not a disaster of nature like floods, tsunami or earthquakes. It is created by man and thus should resolve by man also.

The world has gone through two major world wars but has reemerged and rebuilt itself. It is the collective responsibility of all major countries that any conflict does not grow out of so much control that it creates a major global crisis.

The world has seen immense suffering, untold atrocities, hardships, bloodletting and natural calamities.

It is a universal human right for everyone born irrespective of their caste, color creed or religion to live in liberty, equality, peace, and harmony and live their lives according to their aspirations.

We must pledge and strive to change this world for the better for little Alan Kurdi sacrificed his life to seeking a better and secure life. Surely we owe it to the toddler’s memory to make our world a better place to live in.

Things You Should Know About Depression and How to Save Lives

It’s perfectly normal to feel low when something bad happens or when life is giving you a tough time. If the melancholy, yet, persists over a long period of time and it starts affecting your ability to succeed in your daily life. There can be a lot of confusion when people use the term depression.

Sometimes the word is used to mean almost any type of negative feeling is it loneliness, unhappiness, sadness, despondency or feeling demoralized. Health providers usually use the word depression, to identify a mental disorder rather than a mood, and sometimes refer to it with the phrase “clinical depression”.

depression

Depression by definition is classified as feelings of severe despondency and dejection. It is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person’s thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well-being. With depression, feelings of anxiousness, emptiness, guilt, anger, or restlessness tend to creep into a person’s mind. They may lose interest in activities that were once pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details or making decisions, experience relationship difficulties and may contemplate, attempt or commit suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, aches, pains, digestive problems or reduced energy are all symptoms that a person is depressed.

Depressed mood is a feature of some psychiatric syndromes such as major depressive disorder, but it may also be a normal reaction, as long as it does not persist long term, to life events such as bereavement, a symptom of some bodily ailments or a side effect of some drugs and medical treatments. Depression is a persistent problem, not a passing one – the average length of a depressive episode is 6 to 8 months according to the doctors.

depression society

Our society is in the throes of an effective plague of depression, and the rising statistics are quite staggering and alarming. To understand and overcome it, we need to look deeper into this phenomenon. Today, many of us live dulled lives, that are somewhat robotic in nature and are void of deeper meaning and purpose.

Our lives often become visionless and passionless as we fail to spend our time with our loved ones and stay consumed with the hustle of work. We live in an intensely competitive culture that rewards achievement and success. Which leads our identity and esteem becoming reflections of these external markers of achievement. Our pursuit of happiness and well-being become terribly misdirected.

The demands of our intensely and neurotically driven culture strain our emotional and psychological balance and all this pressure of keeping up with the norms of the society leaves a person and his life disturbed well beyond its comfortable balance. The cultural paradigm in which we live leaves us disconnected, disenchanted and isolated.

depression isolation

The following are a few things we all need to educate ourselves about, on depression before we plan to help someone else.

  • It is more than just “feeling blue”:

A depressed person is constantly feeling worthless, hopeless, anxious, angry, and sad- even to the level of being suicidal. It’s a lot deeper than feeling blue. And it affects more than 100 million people worldwide.

  • It is not just a state of mind, it can even show physically:

Among other things, a depressed person can have body aches, headaches, high blood pressure, fatigue, and feeling of constant tiredness.

  • Watch out for simple symptoms:

Depression is a big deal, but the symptoms can be seen in the simplest of things- lack of concentration, being extremely forgetful about things, irritability, wanting to eat either all the time or never, being overly negative all the time, and general loss of enthusiasm in activities.

  • People of any age can have it:

A common misconception people have is that depression can hit someone at a later age in life. Yet, 1 out of 10 adolescents is likely to have a depressive disorder by the time they’re 18 years of age. Yes, depression among young adults is prevalent.

  • Levels of depression can range from mild to severe, to clinical:

There are different kinds of depression that hit people differently. Some people may have mild depression that normally would hit them after a sudden big change in their lives, like post-partum depression prevalent in new mothers, or for some, it could turn into a major depression over a period of time.

  • It is incredibly hard to live with depression

Something as simple as waking up every morning becomes difficult for a person suffering from depression. While some feel extremely vulnerable most of the time, some depressed souls feel numb-devoid of any emotion. And they can’t control it.

  • It should not be considered a taboo

Because depression isn’t talked about in a nation like ours, it becomes really difficult for people to even consider that they might have a problem, let alone get help in order to get better. It’s about time we start changing our mindset and prejudices about mental health and take action.

  • Even the happiest of people can have depression:

People may not seem depressed on the outside, but it’s the small things that stand out as a difference between healthy people, and depressed people.

  • Major depression can actually change the functioning of your brain:

Yes, depression can have staggering effects on the brain, and make people function differently overall

  • There are ways to fix depression, and to come out of it healthy:

Depressed people need to be assured that their way of thinking is just because of the sickness. If they’ve already accepted the fact that they’re depressed, their family and friends need to show support and let them know that you’ve got their back. It’s dicey if you know that the person is depressed and the patient doesn’t, they need to be handled with utmost care.

  • It can make one feel isolated and lonely:

A depressed person may feel like they’re all alone in this world with no one who cares. But, it’s only the matter of a little external help till they realize that this is not true. There are millions of people out there who feel the same way, and all they need to know is that this will pass. It might be difficult in the beginning, but then, the path to recovery is never easy.

depression mood recovery
Depressed mood may not always need a professional treatment, and may be a normal reaction to life events, a symptom of some medical condition, or a side effect of some drugs or medical treatments. A prolonged depressed mood, especially in combination with other symptoms, may lead to a diagnosis of a psychiatric or medical condition which may be treated with medication and proper treatment.

Different subdivisions of depression have different treatment approaches. It is not usually advisable to use the antidepressants on a routine basis especially for the initial treatment of mild depression because the risk-benefit ratio is poor. The treatment of depression is best managed by lifestyle choices, which includes, diet, sleep, and exercise. A recent meta-analysis also indicated that most antidepressants, do not seem to offer a clear advantage for children and adolescents in the acute treatment of the major depressive disorder.

depression mood swings

If someone you care about has depression, the best and most important thing you can do is support them. To support someone else, you also need to look after yourself. Here are a few pointers:

Educate yourself– Understanding what depression is and how it affects the person you care about will help you be less frustrated and more supportive.

Encourage your friend to seek help – Having someone he/she can trust, like you is so important. But someone trying to cope with a mental disorder also needs treatment. Encourage them to see a doctor or psychologist to get the help he/she needs. Even if the problems don’t seem that bad yet, seeking help early can prevent problems from getting worse.

Listen – When you listen to and acknowledge their feelings, it sends the message that you care. Knowing that you have people who care about you is an important part of recovering from a mental disorder.

Be positive – Positive moods can be contagious! It’s really easy for someone with a mental disorder to focus only on the negative aspects of his/her life. Sharing your positive mood may help them see things from a different perspective.

Be patient – Sometimes it can be frustrating when they start acting differently and may not want to do anything they used to like. Take a deep breath and remember that depression is making them feel this way. He/she can’t just “snap out of it”. Getting impatient will only make the situation worse. Stay positive and be patient. Encourage them to take part in social events. He/she may feel like it’s too much work or effort, but will probably feel better afterward.

Don’t blame yourself – It is not your fault that they have depression. Many different factors, including his/her genetic background, environment, and life experiences are involved. No one can “make” another person have depression.

Put yourself first – On an airplane, they tell you to always put your oxygen mask on first in an emergency before you assist someone else. You’ll be no help to anyone if you’re passed out. With someone with a mental illness, if you burn yourself out by always putting him or her first, you won’t be able to help anyone. It’s absolutely okay (and important) to take time away to take care of yourself.

Don’t try to change your friend – You don’t have to solve all their problems or turn him/ her into a different kind of person. Just be present and supportive.

Have fun together – They need someone who can have fun, relax, and laugh with him/ her. These are all important parts of their mental health (and yours!).

Be aware of suicide risk – If they talk about death or suicide, don’t ignore it or keep it a secret. Talk to a responsible adult who they also trust (e.g., house, assistant, counselor, coach, professor etc). Let them know that you care about him/her and his/her life. If they are talking about suicide, it may be his or her way of indirectly asking for help.

Apple Technology

Technology caught the world by storm and the signs of progress that are still being made with each passing day are without the doubt hitting the world with a bang. Technology has definitely changed the way we live our lives in a big way making everything much easier and faster. It has turned the world into a global village and it is no longer necessary for one to actually be in a place to communicate with someone or perform some other activity. So, we can say that technology has greatly affected our lives.

New technology is everywhere. Automakers are racing to develop self-driving cars, coffee retailers are hoping you’ll use an app to order your morning coffee before you even enter the shop, and retailers hope to offer home delivery by drone in the not-too-far future. Many of us have become dependent on technology as it plays an important role in our daily lives.

Take the daily routine of a person in this technological world. The day begins with a “good morning message” on a social mobile app and ends with a “goodnight” on the same app. The social networking apps/sites are, like a virtual world. The nonstop use of cell phones and the Internet for communication, use modes like Emailing, Social Sites, Instant Messaging, Video Calls, Conference Calls and etc. are the most popular resources of communication among the current generation.

And when we talk about “smart home technology,” we’re not just talking about a washing machine that can sense how big a load of clothing is or a lighting system that dims and brightens as the sun rises and sets. Relatively, smart home covers a range of products and services that allow clients to automate many household devices, appliances and functions according to their lifestyles. To date, the most popular smart home products are smart thermostats, home security and monitoring systems and wireless speakers, but the category is rapidly expanding into other elements of the home.

Apple Inc. is taking over modern tech world, integrates and connects the hardware and software, and makes technology friendly and usable in a way that’s never been done before. It all started with the Macintosh, carried through to the iPhone, and displays itself in modern products like the iPad and the Apple Watch. Apple technology and products are valuable and useful the same time for their users.

Here are few significant tech products Apple Inc. has created and introduced into a new generation of the tech world. Yet no tech company in the past 35 years has done as much advancement as Apple.

Macintosh: Defining the computer for the rest of us.
OS X: No operating system does it better.
iPod: The music world reinvented.
iPhone: The end of the cell phone and the beginning of mobile computing.
App Store: A digital store for a digital world.
iPad: The PC and the TV – reinvented.
Touch: The gestures we all use came from Apple.
Auto discovery networking: Connecting a connected world.
iBeacons: Contextual technology for the real world.
Apple TV, Take 2: Streaming is just the beginning.
Apple HomeKit And Home App: House and appliances connected to the internet via iPhone.

Picture this: You are just getting home from a long tiring day at work. But instead of switching on a light switch or the air conditioner, you reach for your iPhone and say, “Hey Siri, I’m home.” And all a sudden, the lights turn on, the window shades begin to rise, and the temperature starts getting cold.

“Welcome To The Future”! Apple announced a new system called HomeKit and home app, it allows users to control connected smart home accessories and home appliances from your iOS device. It was first announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference back in June 2014. The name is a combination of “home” for home automation and “kit” for software developer kit. HomeKit-enabled accessories are secure, easy to use, and work with several Apple devices (including iPhone and Apple TV).

HomeKit is the base of Apple’s vision for our smart home future, a set of interconnecting apps and devices that control lighting, heating and the cycles of your washing machine. But HomeKit is not actually a product that you can go out and buy, it’s a technology platform aimed at developers and makers. Apple HomeKit was introduced into iOS 8, but we never saw it appear during its lifetime. Instead, the new service will go live with iOS 9, the company’s upcoming OS due for the release this autumn.

apple home kit
Apple Home Kit

When setting up HomeKit you’ll need to give everything a name, this will allow Siri to understand what you want to control with a given command. You’ll also be able to group devices, to control many things at once. This would allow you to turn everything off in your living room, second floor, or even everything in your entire house with a single spoken command. Action Sets and Scenes are pre-programmed tasks that can be activated using Siri. For example, you can tell Siri it’s bedtime, and it will set the alarm clock, switch on the door and window sensors, and turn off all the lights. Other useful applications we can think of are, ‘I’m going to work’ and ‘I’m going on holiday’.

One of the major HomeKit components will be the Apple TV, with the media streaming device acting as a central hub for your smart home. Apple HomeKit will go beyond that and include window and door sensors, thermostats, switches, and white goods such as washing machines and fridges. Some companies have announced HomeKit products already; these include Ecobee with an intelligent thermostat, Lutron with some smart lighting, iHome, Honeywell, Philips Hue, Withings, and Insteon.

HomeKit will feature many privacy and security level according to Apple. The system will feature end-to-end encryption between the iOS device and smart device (meaning the signal would be difficult to intercept and read). Home allows you to control all of your Apple HomeKit devices and Scenes from a single app. One big change Apple has made that could smoothen the entire HomeKit process is the introduction of a native Home app. Set to launch with the iOS 10 software update, which arrives in the fall/autumn this year, it’ll create a central hub where all HomeKit devices can be controlled. It will also introduce a new Scenes feature that will enable you to combine devices to work together at different times of the day. So at night, it’ll lock the doors, lower the lights and turn the heat down and cool the temperature.

Apple smart “Home” app is beneficial in so many ways. There are a couple of benefits to having one standard for smart home devices. First of all, you don’t have to mess around with one app for your lights, one app for your heating, and the other app for your garage door. You can manage all devices from many manufacturers simultaneously. Secondly, security and communication are handled using one fixed standard, which should make for safer and more reliable operation.

apple most valuable brand
Apple is the most valuable brand.

But not everyone will necessarily want to sign up to Apple’s way of thinking and working. Google and Samsung have their own smart home protocols, and at this early stage of the game, it’s not clear just how much ability there’s going to be. In future years you may have to choose your smart home OS as well as your smartphone OS. Apple Inc. has taken over the tech world and to reach more than 600 million users by the end of this year.

Weird Ways To Go Broke

With the rising inflammation in our society, it is normal to hear people say that they have gone “broke”. The word “broke” refers to the idea of having completely run out of money. Many people buy different things from boredom and too much money in your wallet. They buy more and more things that others drew attention to them. With the growing advancements in technology, the amount of stuff we own these days is staggering.

The television has all kinds of ads, which in general aim to keep you from thinking and, instead, make your buying choices based on an emotional response. On average, we see with the growing advancements in technology, the amount of stuff we own these days is staggering. On average, we see 5,000 advertisements every day. Every advertisement carries the same message: your life will be better if you buy what we are selling. We begin to hear this messaging so many times and from so many angles, we begin to subtly believe it. This is not a complete condemnation of the marketing industry. This is simply a call to realize their messaging affects us more than we realize.

Consumer broke

Today’s consumers must be more vigilant than ever in the face of clever, and even deceptive, marketing tactics. If you’ve ever looked at someone rich and thought you’d be set for life if you had all that money, maybe you would or you wouldn’t. There’s no such thing as having too much money to ever go broke. Financial security is determined by financial decisions and so, here are some ways that you can save yourself from getting broke.

Today’s consumers must be more vigilant than ever in the face of clever, and even deceptive, marketing tactics. If you’ve ever looked at someone rich and thought you’d be set for life if you had all that money, maybe you would or maybe you wouldn’t.

There’s no such thing as having too much money to ever go broke. Financial security is determined by financial decisions and so, here are some ways that you can save yourself from getting broke.

With money comes the great urge to spend it, and so people start spending it on useless things just because the idea of spending the paper and owning much greater things helps us all feel secure. Our logic goes like this, if owning some material possessions brings us security (a roof, clothing, reliable transportation), owning excess will surely result in even more security. But after meeting our most basic needs, the actual security derived from physical possessions is much less stable than we believe. They all perish, spoil, or fade and can disappear faster than we realize.

Some people who inherit money spend irrationally. They go on shopping sprees, take vacations and immediately start upgrading their lifestyles. Upgrading your lifestyle includes buying a bigger home with which come great expanses. The bigger the house, the more you are required to pay for the maintenance, utilities, and taxes that may rob you off your little bit of savings.

To keep up with the pressure of the luxurious activities that come along with wealth, many get involved in gambling. For some people, gambling is recreation. For others, it starts out that way but turns into a financially crushing addiction. It’s not unusual for gambling addicts to drain savings, paid business accounts, write bad checks and spend their children’s college tuition.

Gambling Broke Finance

On top of that, many skips work to gamble. Habits like gambling then lead a person to deviant acts like drinking which both, health wise and socially looked upon as a devastating habit that leads many in dismay. It has reportedly destroyed many happy homes and leads to divorce between couples and sometimes leaves one or both eyes broke, as they often have less income and higher expenses when living apart.

With the loneliness that comes along with the divorce, people start to spend more to ease themselves of the stress and depression. The need to impress and make others feel jealous is also another reason that persuades a person to spend more and more which leaves him broke.

There have been reports of many financially successful people go broke trying to get richer. They start businesses they don’t need and don’t have the experience to run. Washington Post columnist Michelle Singletary called it “entrepreneur syndrome.”

Coupled with this comes the company of a bad business partner that may cause your Titanic to sing along with his. according to Catherine Cooper, founder of Catherine Cooper Qualitative Research. One partner can run up credit, drain the business and so run it into the ground. When the unsuspecting partner discovers what’s going on, there’s no money and a mountain of debt. Even if you were unsuspecting or deceived, you’re responsible for what your partner does, she said.

Bank Loan Broke

Ultimately, devastated and depressed most of the people in today’s generation seek their escape in drugs. Some people start using cocaine for fun, but it’s highly addictive, the high doesn’t last long and many people escalate to using several grams a day. An eight ball, which is 3.5 grams, costs $150 to $250, or up to $91,250 a year, according to the Pat Moore Foundation, a drug treatment center. That’s clearly a route to going broke, considering the average household income is only $53,657, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The high cost of these drugs will ultimately leave one homeless and the addiction will then lead them into criminal activities which may lead up their way to the jail. Going to jail definitely, leaves people broke.

Home loans, cars loans, child support and other debts don’t pay themselves, but you still owe. And that outstanding and mounting debt can cause a person to lose everything. And once you are out of jail, the chances to have a change in your financial status are meager.
With not enough money to pay your taxes you can be in trouble: People owe back taxes for many reasons, ranging from honest mistakes and lost paperwork to willful ignorance and tax evasion, said Eckstein.

In most cases, the IRS just wants the money and will work with you. But if you’re blatantly deceptive, don’t stick to payment plans or ignore collection attempts, the IRS can take action that leaves you broke, such as seizing your accounts and garnishing your wages. An attempt to turn the tables around by getting into a relationship with a rich partner is no less than a gamble. Cheating can leave your bank accounts empty.

Depending on how long the affair lasts, the person who is cheating might spend hundreds or thousands on dates, gifts, hotel rooms and flights. Some people even pay their lover’s bills. The average affair lasts six months and costs $444 a month, or $2,664 in total, according to a survey by a U.K. retail company, CNBC reported.

Meanwhile, factor in a suspicious spouse or partner who starts forking over cash to investigate what’s going on a private investigator told CBNC that he charged $100 per hour plus expenses and the costs start to add up. While all this extra spending is occurring, there are still household obligations to cover.

Infidelity is a prime example of how emotion-driven decisions make people go broke. Also, adding an authorized user to your credit cards is risky and could lead you to the poor house. Unlike a joint account holder who is also responsible for repaying debt, an authorized user has the right to spend to the end but isn’t responsible for paying 1 cent. You’re the on the hook for all bills. So the person you are planning to get into a relationship may not be as dumb as you were while on your journey to being broke.

So maybe the next time you go out with your credit card or some cash for shopping you might as well want to remember all the weird ways that can lead you to bring broke and you might want to consider this, Excess material possessions do not enrich our lives.

In fact, buying things we don’t need keeps us from experiencing some wonderful, life-giving benefits. We would be wise to realize the cause and become vigilant in overcoming it. There is more joy to be found in owning less than can ever be discovered in pursuing more.

Frugal living doesn’t have to be a life devoid of fun. In fact, you might be surprised how easy it is to trim your expenses with a little patience and planning. The more you can get out of every dollar you spend, the more money you will have to save for potential emergencies, a college education for your children, vacations to exotic locations, or whatever big ticket item your heart desires.

We are all human and we all sometimes get carried away with our purchases. The key to spending wisely is to cut out as much temptation as you can and test what is important to you. Be prepared, because the process of discovering yourself will take some willpower and you may well end up with some dusty old exercise equipment in the garage. But over time, you’ll learn to stay on track. The next time you want to overspend, you might as well want to reconsider this picture and the reality of life. After all, money does not grow on trees, does it?

The Secret U.S. Iran Nuclear Deal

There has always been conflicting and confrontations between different governments and perhaps the most glaring example could be the cold and undiplomatic relations between the USA and the Islamic Republic of Iran ever since 1979 when the Shah of Iran, Raza Shah Pahlavi was ousted and forced into exile by the greatest revolution of the century led by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Immediately after the arrival of Khomeini, back from exile in France, relations with the US were further exacerbated by the Iranian hostage crisis when students of the University of Tehran impassioned by the revolutionary zeal and fervor lay siege to the US embassy in Tehran.

Fifty-two American were taken as a hostage from November 4, 1979, to January 20, 1981. As coincidence would have it President Carter had been defeated in the 1980 elections and Ronald Reagan was the incoming president.

It is an unverified or unsubstantiated report that at the time of the crisis the Reagan camp had sent feelers to the Iranian camp to release the hostages when Reagan took the oath of office. This was to make sure that Reagan took credit for the release.

However, this was not the case, the Carter administration had struck a deal to return the billions frozen by Carter just 10 days after the siege.

Similarly, the Iran-Contra affair during Reagan’s second term was a great political scandal, Iran was at war with Iraq and was desperate for sophisticated arms from any source possible.

Also known as Irangate or Contragate, the Reagan administration sought to sell arms to Iran with the hope that Iran would use its influence with the Shia militant group, Hizbollah, in Lebanon which were holding several hostages including Americans in Beirut.

Since they could not sell directly to Iran in view of a complete arms embargo imposed by the U.S congress, the modus operandi was such that Israel would ship the arms to Iran which the US would replace and the proceeds of the sale which Israel received from Iran would then be diverted to contra rebels in Nicaragua fighting the communist.

Technically, the Reagan administration was not violating laws passed by congress as they were neither selling directly to the Iranians nor funding the Contras directly.

Although President Ronald Reagan was a strong advocate of the contra cause there is no substantiated evidence that he authorized the diversion of funds.

It is alleged that Caspar Weinberger, the US Secretary of Defence took handwritten notes to the president which indicated that Reagan was well aware of the sale of Tomahawk missiles and tow missiles sales to Iran and the possible release of hostages in Lebanon.

Dealing with the enemy is an accepted norm in governments. It is a well-known fact the Office of Strategic Services or OSS as it was commonly known which later became the CIA, had engaged Nazi intelligence officers to be recruited to spy on the Soviet Union despite many of them known to have war crime records.

In other words, It is alright to look the other way when a good cause is being served.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been considered as the arch nemesis of the United States and vice versa and the Iranians label the US as The “Big Satan” responsible for the world’s problems.

It has always been suspected that Iran is pursuing a nuclear program to develop nuclear arms and is secretly enriching uranium for the purpose. Following the Iranian Revolution in 1979 The United States imposed restrictions against Iran and in 1995 expanded them to firms dealing with Iran.

The Iranian economy was hurting and in 2015 talks started with Iran over the nuclear issue. and eventually on Jan 16, 2016. UN inspectors confirmed that Iran had fulfilled all conditions.

Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opposed the deal tooth and nail and at times contemplated striking Iran’s nuclear facilities as they did but President Obama restrained them.

Ever since 1979. The US has withheld billions of dollars in cash and assets which the Iranians are claiming back. Recently, Iran had detained four Americans while the US had detained 7 Iranians for trading with Iran.

U.S. Sent $400M Iran Deal
U.S. Sent $400M to Iran on Same Day Americans Were Freed 2:06

In a gesture of goodwill, Obama granted clemency to the Iranians while Iran released the Americans. As a added bonus Obama released 400m dollars which made the GOP and the Trump camp cry foul.

But was it ransom that had been paid? The White house has denied that it was ransom and attributed the release of funds as part payment t of the 12 billion or 1.7 billion dollars the Americans had stashed away from the time of the Shah of Iran for the purchase of arms.

U.S. Sent $400M to Iran on Same Day Americans Were Freed 2:06. That sum was actually part of a $1.7 billion settlement with Iran for a decades-long legal dispute that was before an international tribunal in The Hague, according to State Department officials.

The money was transferred on Jan 17, 2016, exactly a day after the four Americans were released. The four Americans were identified as Jason Rezaian, a Washington Post reporter who had been convicted of espionage last year, Amir Hekmati, a former Marine who had been held since 2011, Saeed Abedini, a Christian pastor imprisoned since 2012, and a man only named as Nosratollah Khosravi-Roodsari.

All good deeds deserve rewards for that is the natural order of things. Iran has complied with all the condition set up and relations are improving.

As said earlier the pay-off to the Iranians was not well received by the Republican and many slammed it as a weakness on the side of Obama to cede to the demands of the terrorists.

The most vocal Republican to lash out was Senator Tom Cotton, from Arkansas who accused the Government of acting as a drug cartel.

The said 400m was paid in cash packed in a pallet which led Cotton to say that the money could easily be used for terrorist funding or money laundering.

Playing down reports that The White House had done anything wrong when the details of the payment were published in the Wall Street Journal, the counterpoint from the oval office being that the released funds were part of the billions the US had frozen since years.

According to the paper, an unmarked cargo plane loaded with wooden pallets stacked with Euros, Swiss francs, and other foreign currencies was secretly flown into Iran on the same day the U.S. exchanged seven Iranians for four American citizens.

Cotton, however, said Sunday that, “it doesn’t really matter what President Obama says.”

Democratic vice- presidential- nominee, Tim Kaine leapt to Obama’s defense stressing that the administration was not involved in any shady deals.

The Senator from Virginia who agreed to be Hillary’s vice-president nominee categorically stated that the USA has a long standing policy of not ceding to terrorists, blackmailers, kidnappers and but tries to negotiate the best deal possible.

The US secretary of state, Senator John Kerry who was instrumental in pulling off the deal with Iran adding his opinion to the affair stated that the talks for the release of the Americans were well facilitated by the positive conclusion of the nuclear talks.

Iran has millions or billions of dollars which the Americans are withholding and the release of 400m dollars is surely a positive side in improving relations with the United States.

Iran’s economy has been hurting and the lifting of sanctions have provided immense relief to the government as well as to the common man in the streets of Iran.

One should not always view things from a political perspective. Five lives were saved and the Iranians received a part of a sum which was rightfully theirs in the very first place.

The world is going through a turbulent period especially in the Middle East and with Iran becoming a growing regional power in the region it is only prudent to woo them to exercise their influence in that troubled part of the world.

The threat to the world from the Islamic State or IS as it is known is grave and potentially volatile and diplomacy is the possible recourse and not war mongering. The Americans would do well which is also high time that it distances itself from its greatest ally in the Middle East and start making positive overtures to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Iran should also be flexible in its approach in dealing with the western world also and under President Hasan Rouhani it seems quite likely the situation will improve.

As for the republican party, well the US elections are three months away and with a megalomaniac contending as their nominee, The GOP will stoop to any level to smear the democratic party although there are many in the GOP, saner elements who not endorse the attitude, stance, and rhetoric that Donald Trump has been spewing forth . The US elections 2016 as many are predicting will be the nastiest, ugliest and most contention in the history of the USA.
