21-Year-Old Rapper and YouTube Star Lil Peep Dies of Suspected OD

Due to perform at a Tucson nightclub Wednesday night, 21-year-old Lil Peep was found unconscious inside his tour bus by his manager. All attempts by first responders to the emergency call failed to revive the promising young talent from Long Island, New York.

“After speaking with people on scene and going into the tour bus, [police] said that there was evidence of a possible drug overdose, most likely from Xanax,” Sergeant Pete Dugan of the Tucson, Arizona, Police Department told CNN in a telephonic statement.

“Obviously, we’re not medical examiners, so there will be an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death,” said the Sergeant. He further said that “no sign of any kind of foul play” was observed and that the police was “treating it as a suspicious death case, most likely from an overdose.”

“I am shocked and heartbroken. I do not believe Peep wanted to die, this is so tragic. He had big goals and dreams for the future which he had shared with me, his team, his family and his friends. He was highly intelligent, hugely creative, massively charismatic, gentle and charming. He had huge ambition and his career was flourishing,”

Chief Executive of First Access Entertainment, Sarah Stennett, told E! News. The company had partnered with Peep last year.

“I have spoken to his mother and she asked me to convey that she is very, very proud of him and everything he was able to achieve in his short life. She is truly grateful to the fans and the people who have supported and loved him,” Stennett added.

Bella Thorne, who has been linked to Peep in the past and was even spotted being kissed by him in September, was obviously shocked. “Fuck I don’t know what to say,” was her first reaction to the heartbreaking news. She followed it up with, “Peep you deserved more out of life. Life didn’t do your greatness justice.”

Thorne also posted a video on Instagram with the message, “Anybody out there who is a Lil Peep fan, you guys know how talented he was. You guys know how great he was. Well, he was even more f–king great as a person.”

Peep, born Gustav Åhr, was a high school dropout who earned his diploma online and soon started making a name for himself and his music on YouTube and SoundCloud. At the age of 17, he moved to Los Angeles to further his music career.

In August this year, Peep released his debut album COME OVER WHEN YOU’RE SOBER and had been on tour since August 2, 2017, to promote the album, when he met an untimely death on November, 15, just two days before the scheduled end of the tour.

Hours before his death, Peep had claimed in an Instagram post that he had taken psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana concentrate.
In another message he admitted to having taken six Xanax pills. A video shows him dropping a pill into his mouth after several unsuccessful attempts.

Another post read, “When I die, you’ll love me.”

Obviously, all of this begs the question: Did he take his own life?

Well, we don’t really know. Not yet.

Here are some of Peep’s videos to remember him by.
